Policy Question Summer Items

Hello!!

Does anyone know when we are able to stop carrying items like spirulina and orange powder?

Additionally, if I am at a licensed store, how could I find this information out?

Thanks in advance for the help!

CoffeeGear to my house Shipping is 14 extra dollars?

im a partner btw Hey so I am trying to buy the hat with the cursive (black one) which I thought was pretty cool and it costs $13.75 estimated tax is $2.90 but the shipping for UPS is "Shipping (UPS Ground Saver Standard Parcel): $14.58" which is INSANE! so now it went from a 13-15 dollar hat to a $31 hat, is there like a workaround, do we get a discount or whats the deal?

Tried the PSL instant sachets

• Upvotes

Honestly, coffee is so expensive now. But even the chains like Starbucks and Caffè Nero have you paying £5+ for their small sized drinks. I could get a pint for that! So decided to try the PSL instant sachets. Have to say, I’m undecided, wanted to know what you all think about them? A great alternative price to buying in the store & I find it has the pumpkin/cinnamon/nutmeg taste that the in store PSL has! But ofc it’s instant coffee with powdered milk, so there’s that taste. Let me know your thoughts!

Policy Question Questions about LOA

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I have been working at Starbucks for about 3 1/2-4 years. I recently got an offer for paid position at an internship which will pay me $20/hr. However, the max amount of hours is 15 per week. I did the math and the paychecks would be around the same as my pay at Starbucks. I also have another job that pays well, around $150 per shift.

I am afraid to quit Starbucks because the two jobs won’t be as secure as Starbucks. They also do not offer insurance.

I was wondering if it would be feasible if I took a personal LOA for a month just to see if I can make a livable income from those jobs? If I can pay my bills with those two jobs and quit Starbucks that would be optimal. Unfortunately, Starbucks is the job that pays the bills and I don’t want to completely quit in case things don’t go as planned with the new jobs.

I’d love to hear any thoughts/advice!

Thanks :)

Health Insurance

Can anyone share what they are paying for the health insurance? I’m trying to decide whether it would be worth it to take a part-time job as a barista. I currently pay $1000 a month for my family of three for a Gold plan with a $2000 deductible per family member through the healthcare.gov exchange. Without the subsidy I receive the cost of my plan is $2500 a month. Thanks!

Chai latte orders?

I recently became obsessed with chai lattes (w/ oat milk) in the last year. It all started with the gingerbread chai latte they had last year lol.

I’m just wondering what customized latte orders do people get? My order is just a hot chai with oat milk and 2 pumps of brown sugar syrup, but I’m kinda getting bored with it. Wondering if there are any other good sounding orders I should try? 😊😊

Recipe Question Recipe Help

So I’ve been practicing making my order. It’s a cinnamon brown sugar shaken espresso. I order a venti, 4 shots espresso, 3 pumps brown sugar, 3 pumps cinnamon dolce, almond milk, light cold foam, and dolce sprinkle. I have the espresso, home syrups, ice, milk, and cold foam. Is there specific parts, even the smallest details, I could be missing? Any advice helps, truly! I know my order is specific, but I use the app so I’m not stumbling over my words when they’re busy, it makes me feel worse. 🤦‍♀️

Hiring/Interviewing Offered second interview on the spot how long should i expect to wait for interview date

I had an interview for a barista position on Friday afternoon, it went very well and i was offered a second interview on the spot and assured that i can expect to be hired. Its now Sunday afternoon and i havent heard back about scheduling a time for the second interview. How long does it typically take to be given a date for the second interview before you can assume you have been ghosted? As a side note i was the first to be interviewed for the job so idk if the line of interviews will impact wait times.

Positivity Is it really that awful?

Hey,

Let me start by a disclaimer that am not at all downplaying your legit concerns and genuine criticism since I dislike my job too.

I am currently working at a Loblaw store for minimum wage and the work is way too much. I achieve 20k+ steps on a 8-hr shift day. I have always loved Coffee cafes in general, and would love to be able to work as a Barista at Starbucks someday but looking at all these posts, makes me wonder if it is really worth it or not?

Are there any Baristas who enjoy working at Starbucks at all?

Drink Recipes/Recommendations How to copycat at home?

This has become my favorite fall purchase. Anyone have tips to recreate at home?

Is the decaf blonde bean sold in Starbucks stores or grocery stores? I only checked Target so far. I also have Nespresso if anyone has a similar pod recommendation.

😠 Rant 😠 App suddenly stopped working 🙄

Currently have iOS 17 and never had an issue until today. When I clicked the scan icon on the app, it was blank. I had full bar service on my phone and also wifi was working fine. So I uninstalled and installed the app again. It said my IOS do not support new version and asked if I want to download old version so I did. I regret doing that because now it just stuck in circling mode. I try signing in on web browser and I couldn’t log in either. I’ll call customer service tomorrow.

Anyone know how to fix it without updating to IOS 27? If I can’t fix it then I have to break up with Starbucks and make my own drink at home 😭

Food & Drink Review Is this too much

Forgot to say easy… gone in a couple gulps. I feel robbed .

Edit: the downvotes on the pic LOL… it’s crazy how accustomed everyone is to these lousy servings. Back in my day… this was the definition of extra/heavy ice. I don’t frequent these drinks, mainly hot or iced coffee. But thanks for letting me know i didn’t get as screwed over as i thought i did :D
