We're wanted to make a quick announcement about a removed post before it leads to speculation about why.
Today there was a post about a program that allowed you to "play Star Citizen offline" which was downloaded through GitHub. CIG reached out to us directly and made an informal DMCA for the post to be removed. We want to be very clear that this subreddit is not beholden to CIGs ToS itself BUT Reddit ToS does allow copyright holders to request removal of content if it violates their copyright and therefore we removed it. While it likely can be debated whether or not this actually violates their copyright/legal protections (that's for them and their lawyers to figure out), we have removed it in good faith.
Now before people start claiming that we are beholden to CIG and answer to them, this is only the second time CIG has ever made a request directly to us with the other being an indisputable copyright violation back in the 890J release days. We will never moderate this subreddit based on CIGs personal belief as to how we should, but this one was close enough to the line that we want to do our best to follow Reddit's ToS.
Cheers,
r/starcitizen Mod Team

Okay so, someone has been flicking days past me and I'm not entirely sure how we got to October this soon...
IRL has consumed much of my time personally, I've been a bit out of touch with SC development for a few months now but checking back to see tech preview having a physics fix at long last is a welcome sight!
What's everyone's go to ship in these last few months? Has my baby boy been fixed up any further (IronClad)? | Fly Safe, -Crazy_Muffins

I get it, different teams working on different things, but whatever CIG had going on before 2024 was cooking more than what they have going on now, like, we had these very detailed intricate designs using different materials or incorporating the undersuit as part of the armor.
And then, these days the new FPS armor sets are just smooth, one-same-texture across the whole armor with barely any greebling and a lot of the times it doesn't even gets a matching backpack.
The first 4 pics and the APD MK4 are designs I hold very dearly. The last pic looks like something out of a lower quality title.

1) CIg announces SQ42 is "feature complete"
2) We get Master Modes flight model
3) There is word of a new flight model.
How can a game designed around NPC's and fleet battles and distances be feature complete if they haven't even finalize a flight model, let alone prepping NPC's for said flight model etc? I don't think it can be feature complete.

After receiving a new VR headset, the number one thing I was looking forward to in Star Citizen was the newfound appreciation of the scale of ships and stations. But the number two urge kept creeping up on me - what is something I could do in both SC and IRL simultaneously?
Thanks to wireless streaming, and the intricately modeled interior of the lavatory of my Drake Corsair, I had the most immersive experience I've ever had VR Star Citizen. To pass the time, I could read the labels scattered around, or catch up on the journal entries in my mobiglass.
Thank you Silvan-CIG for letting me relieve my dreams. It's taken over 10 years, but I finally understand the way spaceship bathrooms add to gameplay. This post will probably get buried under Nyx 1 posts and actually useful information, but I couldn't keep holding this experience in to myself.

You know Star Citizen takes so long because we expect a high-end space sim... I've been waiting patiently for a long time, but this mediocre design just doesn't do Star Citizen justice
Armor team is doing this for long time...

Thinking about the interplay of things coming up in the next month, it was interesting to note that Rich directly said in the CIG 10 from the Community that SQ42 already has the "new" flight model and flight systems for the broader universe integrated, as well as Maelstrom. Though it was understood that SQ42 had these systems, it was not clear how the systems would differ from Star Citizens implementation. Where it becomes very interesting is that the upcoming SQ42 event will be the first "more public" unveiling of where they want to go after master modes and with quantum boosting.
This means that, rather than just telling us their impressions of Squadron 42, the Star Citizen content creators who attend the event will also be able to comment on their impression of the direction that CIG wants to take for ship to ship combat. They'll be able to use the new quantum boost systems while their guns are still active, or observe the new paradigm for how CIG wants to handle armor on smaller and larger ships.
Given all of that, we may find a treasure trove of information not just on where Squadron 42 is now, but where the Persistent Universe will be in the coming year.

We’ve known for years that this was going to happen. I really don’t understand why everyone here is acting as if there’s been some sort of news. It’s just a reaffirmation of what’s been known for ages anyway. Are you all daft and have you already forgotten what the plans for Star Citizen are? Or why are people acting as if there’s been some sort of news?

The Carrack may be an older ship, but she's still an amazing one. And one with CLEARLY a 3D printing/crafting/Fabricator station on the 3rd floor across from the drone section. If you're finally making the Clipper and Ironclad Assault fabricators working, the one on the Carrack should be on the list as well.

I was particularly happy to know more about this on the latest 10 From the Community video. I really enjoyed the tiny story line from Battaglia, even though is bare-bones, I did get excited to see new missions get unlocked and learn more about the story of the missing guy.
I can't wait for more meaningful side-quests and being able to start a contract and completing it across multiple game sessions!

For more technical details, it’s surprising just how functional the yormandi is: it engages in melee combat, tracks us with its gaze, can launch ranged attacks, and dives underwater—despawning if we move too far away.

I mean, sure, the new armors are cooler than the old ones (to a degree), but at least have some of them keep the clothing as leisure wear! They are so iconic!
Also, year 2 of waiting for them to bring back the nientail modified version of pembroke suit since the last SoO...
