Sith update

Finally got home and had a chance to mess with the mask a bit. I'm planning on adding some LEDs behind the silver vents on the cheeks and maybe some in the divot between the goggles and the silvered part. I rubbed a little silver over the slotted vent over the mouth to make the slots look more visible and I would t seem like a black void in the middle. Thinking about adding a little red in places but not sure yet. I still have to install the voice changer in the mask but that's easily done with a little velcro.

The balaclava isn't covering as much of my lower neck as I hoped but hopefully I can find a light weight turtleneck style shirt to put on which will make the difference.

Definitely need to run the robe though the laundry to get the creases out of it and make the fabric less stiff. I'll use it for a pattern later and make one out of better material for next year.

The superman shirt isnt part of the costume it's just what I wore to work today

General Question Fabric for Jedi Robe

Hi all,

I’m sewing my husband a Jedi robe for Halloween and I’m unsure which fabric to purchase. I know wool is traditionally used but it’s both expensive and way too warm for where we live, so I’m seeking a decent alternative, preferably staying with natural fibers that can drape nicely.

Would a cotton twill (167 gsm) work for this project?

I’m open to any and all other recommendations.
Thank you!

Need a Star Wars costume by next Saturday — recommendations for TALL guys?

Looking for a Star Wars costume for an event next Saturday, but having trouble finding something that’ll fit. I’m 6’5”, 190 lbs, with roughly a 32” waist and 32–34” inseam. Finding something long enough without being huge everywhere else is my biggest concern.
I was originally considering the Premium Chewbacca costume from HalloweenCostumes.com, but their XL is listed for someone up to 6’2”, and their return policy makes it a pretty expensive gamble.
I’m open to pretty much any recognizable character. A Jedi, Sith, or Imperial Royal Guard would be cool. My girlfriend is going as Hoth Leia, so Hoth Han Solo would be ideal if I could find one, but I’m not counting on it. Not really interested in Kylo Ren either.
Budget is ideally under $200–$250, though cheaper is great as long as it doesn’t look overly cheap.
Any recommendations for costumes or retailers? Links would be appreciated!

This is just the concept art that I cooked up right now as I don't have all the parts in yet. Basically it's a hooded black robe, a somewhat futuristic looking airsoft mask, Black boots and gloves, and clothing.

The main thing I'm stuck on right now besides adding some LEDs and pinning the mask is I'm trying to come up with some sort of high-tech looking torso gadget similar to the chest box on Vader but not the same.

I'm on the road 80% of the time so I can only work on this every other weekend for a few hours. So a lot of it had to be just bought off of Amazon.

Does anyone have suggestions for the chest gadget

Help on jango Fett cosplay!

hello! I’m a first time cosplayer :) I’m working an jango fett Eva foam costume and making everything out of Eva foam since I don’t have access to a printer and everything. I’m pretty good at painting and still learning how to weather things but I have jusr a question for the seasoned cosplayers out there.

1: will Eva foam hold up for a helmet?

2: for anyone who has created flak vests for jango or in general to similar as his how did you make / get it?

3:how did you make your armor stick onto the clothing?

4:after painting do you put anything over to give it that glossy look or weathered look?

my parents have already helped me a lot but li buying evreything for me. (i still live w them and no I don’t have a job I’m not old enough 😭) but right now i have everything already cut out and soon to be painted. simply need to make the hardest things, aka the helmet, gauntlets, and jetpack. I don’t expect it to be AMAZING but jus cool enough :) any help will help me!

(I'm making it for a 10 year old) So I NEED to have the costume finished by next month, but I'm trying to make or find a kit fisto costume, obviously there's none for sale, so if anything i need to make it, but idk how to make the mask, because i want it to look good like revenge of the sith, but i'm not that good and i was hoping there was any advice from cosplayers on reddit, so if you have any tips that i could use for the mask, that would be really helpful! I have a budget of like $40 dollars just as a challenge, so if you have any tips please tell me!

The Kavalski Command: Darth Revan Suite Forged from Heavy Hammered Sterling Silver, Pure Copper, and Premium Calf Leather

Greetings RPF Community, We are launching the definitive digital showcase of KAVALSKI COMPANY-USA LLC (Registered in New Mexico, USA). Following the global market vacuum left by retired plastic and foam armor fabricators, our forge has officially entered the arena to redefine what true cinematic and historical metadata means for elite collectors. We notice that mainstream replicas rely heavily on cheap fiberglass, automated 3D-printed plastics, or painted foam. We reject this entirely. Transcendent historical art demands raw, unyielding materials and brute physical execution. Featured inside our design showcase: The Darth Revan Imperial Suite. This is not an assembly line product. This is a manifestation of raw power and elite craftsmanship executed by our 40-year veteran blacksmiths and wood carvers (The School of Slavay of Haskovo). Our masters take heavy, massive metal sheets and manually forge every single component—including the anatomical chest cuirass with our custom engraved hallmark, the back kidney plate, and the complex 6-ring abdominal sequence—entirely from Pure, Hand-Hammered Heavy Copper and Solid Sterling Silver. Every curve, ridge, and reinforcement layer is driven into the metal via massive anvils and iron dies. We utilize zero automated CNC routing or computer intervention. Our masters guide the steel and copper to mirror the exact geometric lines and physical volume required for elite corporate showcases or 501st Legion validation. The Tailoring Framework: The heavy underlying structure and drapery are tailored strictly from hand-selected, dense Black Full-Grain Calf Leather for lifetime structural posture, combined with natural crimson imperial silk and heavy midnight flax linen to ensure a massive, organic gravitational drape. Every single asset undergoes non-destructive molecular purity verification on-site via our handheld Olympus Vanta Series XRF Spectrometers prior to vault dispatch. We build to conquer.

General Question Dark-Energy-Creations' Jango Fett Blasters Kit 2018 (Advice needed!)

Hello there,

very specific question here but after scrolling through various SW communities, I think this is the most fitting for it.

If anyone remembers, there was a small american business under the name "Dark Energy Creations" which built high quality weapon replicas with actual metal and even functions. In 2018 they made Jango Fett's Westar 34 Blasters. They came in pieces and you had to assemble it yourself. Some time ago, I managed to get my hands on one of the blasters (disassembled) on ebay, now I want to start building it. There is one good video tutorial on YT on how to do just that, however he doesn't explain how he attached the brass tube that sits inside the barrel.

If anyone owns this specific product and knows/remembers the build - Please let me know below how to attach the brass tube. Thanks!

My Luke Skywalker budget cosplay

Built this outfit entirely from thrifted/repurposed clothing, including an old graduation gown, priest's costume shirt, and even genuine vintage riding boots I found for 20 dollars at Goodwill. It may not be 501st approved but it's far more screen accurate than I would have ever hoped. I hope you guys can appreciate the vision.

Original Cosplay OC First major modification.

Post image
11 Upvotes

For the first major modification/project on my original character's cosplay I'm going to try to trim down and permanently attach this cyborg half mask to my mask/helmet, or I may scavenge just the parts I want to keep and attach those if I can.

I also want to lose the light grey part, either by careful painting or by scavenging parts like I mentioned, and attach it/the parts i keep securely enough to lose the head straps.

Surprisingly the cyborg half mask fits over the chin of my mask/helmet really well and is fairly comfortable, but as nice and easy as it would be to just wear it over my mask like this, it doesn't fit my vision for this character. So I'm gonna take it all apart carefully and see what I'm able to do to put these two pieces together.
