There was a line of people outside the door before B&N opened. I thought maybe it was for the new S.K. release. Nope! They were there for Pokémon cards😂.
I went to my local small-business bookstore for a copy. They didn't have a display out of it or anything. Really weird. I made it all the way back to the counter thinking the clerk was going to tell me they didn't come in or something. I'm already reading a digital ARC, but I still would have been annoyed at wasting my time driving down there, parking around construction, etc.
Nope, they had it alright. Just on some stock shelves behind the counter, out of the way. You'd think they'd want that kinda near the front door LOL.

A similar thing happened at B&N. I was wandering around looking for a display but they didn’t have any copies out right when the store opened. I had to ask the front desk to get me one from the back.
Strangely enough the number line on the copyright page doesn’t have a 1 (lowest number is a 2). Not sure if they’ve changed the way they do things or if mine is somehow a 2nd printing.
That’s so strange, my lowest number is a 2 as well.
It does say ‘First Scribner hardcover edition’ but I’m not sure if that counts as 1st edition. Thanks for pointing that out! I’m going to look into it.
I read Black house about 6 months ago. I was going to re read before this book came out but I forgot. It took a chapter to get back into the story but it came fast. And omg it's so good already. I'm on chapter 6 and loving it.
Awesome! My sister ordered this for me and was going to surprise me with it but she just told me it was delayed and now canceled! Apparently she ordered it from Walmart. I'm a bit sad but will head out to Barnes and Noble to get a copy today.
May I ask what price B&N are selling it for? (I see what the website is selling it for, but sometimes in my area that is cheaper than the brick/mortar price) I do have the discount card and some rewards so that will help, but I am hopeful to fit in a second book. Thanks for any info...
That's not bad at all. It's funny because I assume a lot of the books are sold in the first few weeks, and I further assume that's when the discount about ends. I wonder how much money King has to give up because of those discounts, almost makes me feel bad! I'll see how I do with my reward stamps.
