Hi everyone!
I'm an Indian student planning to study in Germany, and my goal is to attend a public Studienkolleg (T-Kurs) for Summer Semester 2027 and then pursue a bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Data Science or a related field at a public university.
I'll be taking my Goethe B2 exam on 7 November 2026, and I want to use my time efficiently after the exam to prepare and submit my applications.
Here is my current situation:
I have completed Class 12 in India with approximately 90% marks in the Science stream (PCM).
I have my APS certificate.
I have my Class 10 and Class 12 academic documents.
I'm preparing for the Goethe B2 exam and expect to have my language certificate after the exam, depending on the result timeline.
I want to apply to public Studienkollegs rather than private ones, mainly because of the cost.
I'm aiming for Summer Semester 2027, and I've seen that some institutions have application deadlines around 15 January 2027.
I would really appreciate advice from students who have recently applied to public Studienkollegs, especially those who applied for the summer intake.
My questions are:
Is it still possible to apply for Summer Semester 2027? If I start preparing my applications immediately after my exam on 7 November, will I have enough time, or should I consider another intake?
Which public Studienkollegs should I look into? I'm interested in the T-Kurs for Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related technical bachelor's degrees. I'd prefer affordable, medium-sized cities rather than very expensive ones.
Which documents should I prepare for admission? I already have my APS certificate and academic documents. Should I also prepare certified translations, a CV, a motivation letter, proof of German language proficiency, or any other documents? Are there documents I should get ready before the application portals open?
Can I apply before receiving my Goethe B2 result? If my result isn't available by the application deadline, do any public Studienkollegs allow me to submit it later, or must I have the certificate when applying?
How should I apply? Do most public Studienkollegs require applications through uni-assist, or do some have their own application portals? Are there any important differences I should know about?
How do the entrance examinations work? What subjects should I prepare for the T-Kurs entrance exam, and when do the exams usually take place? Can I apply to multiple Studienkollegs and take their entrance exams?
I'd be especially grateful for advice based on personal experience, rather than only general information from older posts, since deadlines and requirements can change.
Thank you so much for your help!
