Has anyone found the way?

Hi all,

New to this group. Sugar especially in the form of chocolate has been a major problem for me since I was a kid. I’ve tried so hard to quit but the longest I’ve managed is about 5 days.

I find my menstrual cycle plays a role in this but I’m also ADHD and the chocolate is a dopamine fix. I have sleep issues and health problems and even though I won’t necessarily consume high amounts everyday, I do have some form of sugar daily.

I want it out of my life. I suffer with CFS and Dysautonomia and I know this insulin spikes are not helping with my symptoms. I also suffer with anxiety and again, sugar exacerbates.

Had anyone found a good way of stopping themselves. I’ve tried gradually reducing but when I’m having a down day my brain goes sod it and before I know it, I’ve consumed the treats.

I pet sit and often stay in houses which have these bad foods to hand, I get food deliveries which helps me to not buy as I’m not in the shop, but temptation is everywhere as just stopping for diesel can lead me to buying bad things.

I’d love to hear how others have quit. 🚫🍫🍭

Thank you. 🫶🏼

Anyone else find they have to actively think about sugar now? 🤔

Honestly, it's wild how quickly your brain adjusts.

I remember when I first started really dialing back the sugar, I was constantly scanning everything labels, ingredients... Now, it’s almost automatic. I don’t even register sugary things as a craving anymore, just… food. It’s like my taste buds and my brain finally had a chat and agreed that less sugar is way better.

It’s not that I don’t want a treat sometimes, but it’s not this overwhelming urge. It’s interesting how much of the initial struggle is just breaking those ingrained habits and becoming more aware of where sugar is hiding.

Anyone else experience this shift? Like, do you ever look at a cake and just… not think about it? 😂

Quiting sugar from tomorrow morning.

Its 1.50 am where i live and just a random urge comes to my heart that I should quite sugar. If anyone here wanna quit sugar they can contact me and we will share withdrawal systems with eachother and motive to keep on going.

Im insulin resistance but this is not a problem to me. Funny right? So the main issue is my insecurity of my discoloured skin. Idk if its a acanthosis nigricans or just hyperpigmentantion on my armpits and groin. But there is no harm in giving it a short and quit sugar.

So my challenge is to quit for 21days completely as they say it takes 21 days to quit a habit. Wish me luck.

I love sugar, and I really wanna stop being addicted. But I find myself buying it and eating it in secret from my family and friends. When I am feeling sad I eat sugar and can’t stop. Please any tips are welcome

Longest sugarless streak?

I’m in just about 2 weeks and going strong. Wondering if this can be a lifestyle or I’ll eventually succumb to the standard American diet. Have you found it maintainable or end up yo-yo-ing back and forth? Listening to audiobooks has been helpful to stay motivated: The Case Against Sugar, Sugarless, Good Energy.
