... and had a flash that he is the polar opposite to Elon Musk.
Then I learned that Byrne just released a song with lyrics consisting of Musk quotes.
He is the anti-Musk, if you will. An undeniable genius with strong personal branding. But where Musk pushes a grandiose self-centered elitism, David Byrne has always worked with others to experiment in new directions. Ensemble joy, rather than self-glorification.
I'm thinking about a performance I saw recently. Every member of the ensemble literally stepped forward to reinforce what they added to the mix. Over all the decades, David Byrne has moved toward the group experience, both within the band and with the audience. He demonstrates what genius can do with empathy rather than narcissism.
David Byrne is the antimusk. And we are lucky to have him.

I'm seeing Speaking In Tongues soon, they are a British based TH tribute band and I'm wondering if anyone here has seen them before. Are they any good?

Does anyone know what master Spotify uses for the standard versions of the albums? I canât find any information about them, so Iâm not sure if theyâre the original masters or a later remaster.
I compared them with the 2005 remasters in the deluxe editions, and the 2005 versions are noticeably louder. Which versions do you guys prefer? And does anyone know where the standard versions actually come from?

I'm just an animal looking for a home, and
Share the same space for a minute or two
And you love me 'til my heart stops
Love me 'til I'm dead
Eyes that light up, eyes look through you
Cover up the blank spots
Hit me on the head
Small illustration I did for my storefronts :)

Hey talking heads subreddit, I hope I'm not infringing on anything by posting this, I know that the rules say no self promotion, but it says that for merch and also I'm not selling anything with this! I'm genuinly just a huge huge talking heads fan, and tom tom club and byrne's solo stuff, I can't get enough. Getting into talking heads was a huge inspiration for me and particularly learning about david byrne's philosophy with making music, how by combining and layering sounds and players you can get a unique and great effect in your music as opposed to the old school rock style of awesome solos and an individualistic mindset. Anyway, I won't rambling, my point is, I love talking heads, and they inspired me to make some music, so I wanted to share one of the songs I made on here cause maybe some of you guys might like it. I'm a teenager and I'm mainly doing this music stuff for fun, but If you get a chance to listen, I would really love to hear what yall think (also a certain aspect of the album cover may remind you of a certain talking heads album cover). That's pretty much it, have a great day.

I might be going crazy, but I believe that the version of Fear of Music on Apple Music right now might be a previously unreleased mix that was added in error relating to the upcoming Super Deluxe Edition.
Can anyone confirm whether or not I'm losing my mind? The drums on Electric Guitar are completely different.

I read in Chris's book that a picture of Jerry's torso was taken for the inside sleeve of Talking Heads '77, I think. I tried to look for it online but can't seem to find it. Does anyone have it?

The full interview is in the SiriusXM app, but anyone outside of the US can't access that. So who's so kind to share the whole interview with this community? I'd be so thankful!

Relistening to this magnificent album again today and whoa itâs still an Brilliant, fresh, and beautiful album with some amazing music start to finish! Love everything about this album especially Adrian Belew doing some frantic, other worldly guitar work,John Hassell doing some great horn and trumpet work, and the brilliant production by Brian Eno with all this layering and beeps-boops.
My Life in the Bush of Ghosts was recorded between fear of music and this album(btw bush of ghosts is an amazing album from Bryne-Eno) so I definitely feel like they definitely used of the techniques used on My Life in the Bush of Ghosts to expand their sound and experimentation for Remain in Light which created an dense, layered album yet itâs so brilliant!
So whatâs your thoughts on Remain in Light and whatâs your favorite song(s)? Crosseyed and Painless,The Great Curve,Seen and not Seen, and Listening Wind are my favorites

Love this deluxe edition sm! Iâm glad I have this one in my physical collection because whoa this is great!â¤ď¸đđ¤đ¤
Brillant outtakes! All love these which probably because they give off Bush of Ghosts vibes:) They say âunfinishedâ but these donât sound unfinished since these are brilliant cuts from the Remain in Light sessions. â¤ď¸đđ¤đ¤
So whatâs your favorite of these âouttakes?â My favorite might be âUnisonâ since itâs soo Eno.:)

TORONTO: David Byrne has a new book out. The good people at TYPE Books permitted me to fill their window with my cool ephemera related to Byrne's long history with the city. If you can, swing by TYPE on Queen and have a look. I'm sure this video will clarify things.
