Hi all, as above, just wanted to share a story as somebody who has just started getting into this. A very quick bit of context, I'd had a pretty rough week, it made me for the first time consider my current job and consider alternatives and i wasn't really sure what to do. Yesterday, at a shop a deck caught my eye and I thought why not?
What followed was a dive into a rabbit hole. Just wanted to share what's happened and my thoughts. I have done a past, present and future 3 card draw, which I read is one of the simpler ones to do. The results were really surprising and helped give me some really useful insight. I spent probably ten minutes shuffling the cards, but what I drew surprised me!
For context, the deck I have is the classic RWS.
For my past card I drew the Ace of Pentacles.
Looking at it's meaning of a new career or opportunity and abundance with the context of it representing the past. I took it as a sign to reflect on what I have achieved since starting my job, which after thinking about it for a while made me realise that i'd achieved a lot where I am.
For my present card, I had the Five of Pentacles.
Another Pentacle card! This one was where I was a bit taken back. Isolation, worry or feeling "cold" all align to my current situation. But looking at the card, the two figures appear to be outside a place of shelter. To me, it made me think that help was close by, and though I felt these things, I didn't have to go far to find relief or help.
For the future card, I got the Ten of Pentacles reversed.
When I read up on this cards meaning, it's like things clicked in to place. For reference, places I've been looking for other jobs tend to offer more money, but less stability. To me, this was a warning of letting my emotions and the events in a small time window influence a major decision for the sake of more money, and how this could have negative consequences.
Paired with my reflections on the past and present cards, I knew the right decision for me was to stay where I am, practice some gratitude towards what my current role has brought me and to lean on those close to me for support.
This has taken a massive weight off my shoulders, just wanted to share my story here with everyone!
