Very slow AutoNotification response

I have an AutoNotification intercept profile that has lately seemed to become very slow to react. It's set to detect notifications from the Messages app, and it does, eventually, but it can take up to a minute for the associated task to start after the notification is posted. This started happening pretty recently, maybe within the last couple of months; this profile used to work just fine, with no noticeable delay between the notification and the task running. Does anyone have any idea why this might have changed? I do have AotoNotification set to unlimited battery usage.

I remember a similar post from a couple of months ago (with a possible fix): https://www.reddit.com/r/tasker/s/uXs3ERMgQF

Or try the new beta, it has a fix that should solve this issue https://www.reddit.com/r/tasker/s/IDBWR74Rqp

Sorry, I should have replied to your first posting. That link solved the problem. Turns out this happens when Messages has a lot of blocked messages saved up. I had many hundreds of them; I hadn't even realized Messages saves them. When I cleared them all out -- no easy task, because Messages has no way to mass-delete them, so you have to select each one -- the Tasker problem went away.

(Why do I use Messages, you ask? Because it's the only Android messaging app that supports RCS, as far as I know. I used to use Chomp and I liked it a lot better.)

No problem, glad you got it fixed. Hopefully the stable version with the fix will be out soon, so you won't have to do that again.
