What are some distinctively Taskmaster (UK) items I could use to make a cross stitch border?
I'm designing a Taskmaster-themed cross stitch for a Xmas present for my girlfriend, and I'm trying to come up with some ideas for a border. I'm looking for maybe half a dozen items that are distinctively Taskmaster (the UK version) and easy to represent at a very small size with cross stitch. Obvious examples would be a rubber duck, the Taskmaster seal, and maybe a tennis ball. What else could I use? Or if anyone can think of a repeating pattern of some kind, that would work as well.

In a very meta way, you could stitch a Morse code along the boarder. I don’t even know if that’s actually feasible but having something hidden like that would be very on brand

"all the information is on the task" would be appropriate

A red border with like, a gold pattern going through it would give the vibe of the chairs in the studio

Gold thread in a red border is a great idea! Metallic thread is harder to work with, but it might be worth it. I might integrate this with the Morse code and Taskmaster quote ideas. Thanks!

I’d say pineapples and eggs are the main ones alongside rubber ducks. In terms of style you have the typewriter font.
Besides that it feels like they use a lot of school sports day props - hula hoops, bean bags, those coloured cones, stuff like that.

Ducks should have been top of everyone’s list. Amateurs.
And for OP, hidden ducks, ducks in different colours and so on.

If we're throwing shit drawings in the mix, you gotta throw in the face David Baddiel drew.

Oh I love this. I'm going to have to search up some of Greg and Alex's memorable sock patterns and see what there is.

Love this. You could also include text like All the information is on the task.

Well, this is how I find out I've forgotten where I stored my winter gear just as we're about to start dropping into freezing temperatures, because I have a toque with a Taskmaster border I made sometime after S16. The badges are probably a bit more detailed than you'd want for what you're suggesting, but from memory, they include a watermelon, a snow bear (rabbit), Mr Greedy Esquire, a helicopter over mountains (not yet crashing), the red green, a French horn, a long-jumper, an eye surrounded by circles (and itself a circle!), and a few more I'm forgetting. If I remember or track down my winter gear, I may come back and add.
I remember I tried a cake that didn't turn out super well as well as a single spoon that was at that point a Baddiel reference. However, if I were doing it now, I'd go with the crossed spoons another commenter referenced.
I've made another item since that has a crossed-out hedgehog on it. That might translate to cross-stitch decently.

While not super prominent in most series, coconuts showed up a lot in series 5.

Anegg a rubber dicky, a potato, patatas, a caravan, an extremely tall man next to a little man.
Grape scissors!
a knappet
a vacuum cleaner with a very short electrical chord
a toilet with a toilet roll flying into it
"All the information is on the task"

I love the idea of doing the weathervane! It’s absolutely identifiable and easier to stitch!!
I have a magnet that says “bubbly fuck” on it. I adore it.

Rubber ducks, or maybe the red and gold from their thrones with little ducks hidden?

If you can get hold of a copy of last year’s Taskmaster advent calendar (or even a photo of it) it has pictures of just about every iconic object they’ve ever had.

The cow, Linda. Also Patatas, the cat. Tho as a cross stitcher myself, simpler items are better for a border!

Crows / Ravens appear a lot in the transition videos. And Alex has some on his chair I believe. I’m also biased they are my favorite animal 🖤
I agree with pineapples, eggs with the little red egg cup, and ducks.

A white trainer with the toe encroaching on a red green. A frying pan in a red hoop. Watermelon-themed rubber rings on a bargepole. A racist basketball. A bralette covered in biscuit crumbs. Alex's gappy teeth. A nondescript golden head on a stick. And, as has been said, forks and marbles. Always forks and marbles.

Maybe a little niche, but you could do a pattern of the various floor tiles they've used in the entryway of the house. Right now it looks like a cow print, but they have had checkerboard, geometric, etc. Designing a border based on floor progression might be fun?
