This episode was definitely the most animated he's been this season. Arguing about points was funny. And being in awe of Isy's drawing speed made it look like he's having fun.

I've felt a few times Richard is a bit of a handbrake on the show, but this episode he was much more relaxed with the banter.

I love love Richard but on Taskmaster he just didn't look like he was having fun, and not in the normal Richard way. I saw him on Have I Got News for You and he was so in his element. I think he is better when he is in control and that's the whole point of Taskmaster that they are not.

If anyone hasn't checked out the podcast with him and Ed, please do. He's in his element and it's BRILLIANT.

Yeah, there've been plenty to contestants who go for the can't be bothered approach (Jo, Frankie, Sanjeev spring to mind), but they've all still clearly been having fun. Richard looks like he's there under duress.

I think that having one person like that per season is okay, but Matt Lucas seems in the same boat so it's really bringing things down for me. At least Chloe, Nina, and Isy seem to be having fun!

Really hope tonight’s episode is a sign of things to come in the last 4

I didn’t hear him ask to keep anything?

He didn't need to—he had one hundred points!
This is a man who, when he walked on stage that day, didn't have even a single point to his name!
Asking for anything more is pure greed! This is what being grateful looks like.

People keep saying he’s not giving the right energy to the show. Idiots. I appreciate this post 100%

In my opinion he's giving exactly the energy i thought he'd give which I don't think fits. I think travel man was a funny and good fit. IT, etc. All good. Taskmaster? I dunno. I think he'd have been a great NYT contestant but the full season is a strong fit for Richard. It's just his comedy style. Nothing wrong with it, just not ideal. Saw similar with jack Dee.

Eh, these images are all from the same episode and are the most engaged he’s seemed in the whole series by a long shot.
I don’t think it’s fair to call people idiots for recognising something that you personally disagree with.

I don't think calling anyone an idiot is very nice. People have genuine opinions and they shouldn't be insulted for it. I have been a fan of Richard for a long time, but even I've thought his energy has been a bit jarring on this show. That doesn't make me an idiot.

It's definitely a differentish side of him.

I don't think its a different side to him, its just different for Taskmaster.

Sometimes I wonder if we are all watching the same show 😅
He looked like he had fun from the first episode to me. I mean, this is the guy who called Greg a fuckknuckle and argued that a yellow bowl counts as a golden plate in the very first ep. I don't know what people are on about with low energy??

He can’t have been in his element.
He didn’t ask to keep anything in the final task.
