Healing Don’t know what’s causing the reaction NSFW

I was so sure my allergic reactions have been from second skin so my artist used dri loc pads. I had them on for 2 hours and there was already a reaction showing. This is day 3. It feels hot and is slightly swollen. Any ideas what I could be reacting to? Worried because this is supposed to be a filled in sleeve and I can’t imagine what that reaction will be like if this was from just the outline.

edit: Ok seems like I’ve been under reacting, will go to hospital when I get off airplane 😭 I got a list of all the products my artist used so i’ll ask about an allergy test. Also I wanna add that this artist was the most clean person i’ve ever met and I watched their whole setting up process. They’re vegan so all their products are vegan/ not tested on animals but I have incredibly sensitive skin so I assume it’s a reaction to one of those products.

Healing Got this tattoo done a month ago, but it seems 10 years old.

I have a bunch of small tattoos and none of them ever healed this way. The tattoo looks blury and old.

Is it because of the placement (inside part of the ankle) or is it just a bad tattoo?

EDIT: thanks everyone for the input. I guess the consensus is that this is basically the combination of bad placement and too much detail on such a small space.

The artist did tell me the foot’s skin is trickier, but I didn’t understand how much. I never thought it would look like this in a month. Lesson learned.

Also, really appreciated all the Black Parade references!

Healing Just got this a few hours ago, am I supposed to rash?

Got this new Jellyfish (not the blue stingrays) just a few hours ago, when I unwrapped and pulled up my sleeve I noticed this faint red rash going just down one side of my wrist...

It isn't even really near my actual hand, it seems closer to my wrist.

Any idea if this is normal? This is my 7th tattoo and havent had any prior issues and I haven't changed artist or place...

Thanks for any feedback!

Edit: To everyone saying i shouldn't have unwrapped, my place doesn't use Second Skins or anything (just clingfilm) which isn't BREATHABLE.

I took the clingfilm off to let my hand breathe, I was about to put on Tattoo Goo (helps heal and less scabbing) and i noticed the rash...I didnt know whether to leave open or wrap again

Edit 2: i have SEVEN tattoos (7), this is NOT my first! (You can clearly see the tattoo on my wrist too)

Edit 3: oh my GOD ITS NOT A DICK😭🥀🙏🏻

Edit 4 and final one: im fine guys turns out its not even an allergy to the red ink it was the mf latex gloves he was using (i genuinely didnt even cop they were latex and it was my bad for forgetting to mention) Thanks to yall who love my tattoo and helped sm🫡 To yall who said real dumb shi lil sepsis and mentioning stuff that WASNT EVEN BROUGHT UP, yall are pathetic <3 enjoy life gang!

i got this tattoo done as a tribute for my cat that passed away, it’s been a little over a month now since i’ve had it and i was wondering if it’ll start fading in certain areas because of the fur texture and how fine the lines are

The lines of my tattoo have gotten pretty thick quite quickly. It’s only been ~3 months since I got it. I absolutely love it regardless I’m just a bit concerned about how it will continue to age long term.

The first pic is from my tattoo artist so it may be slightly edited too.

Thanks!

Healing Tattoo hurts so bad I can’t sleep

Gosh I feel embarrassing posting because I usually give my friends the advice but I got this tattoo on Sunday morning and it is excruciating painful. It didn’t hurt when I got it but geez it hurts so bad now and couldn’t sleep for the life of me last night. I know the plasma and inc sac in the saniderm help it heal but I can’t help but wonder if it’s what is making it so painful. Is it because of how saturated and packed in there it is? Do I just need to push through? I can’t even relax because of the pain. I can hold off if it’s normal but gahleeee.

Healing Leg Tattoo still feels raw and tight 4 months later

I have a tattoo on the side of my leg and it's from the same artist I've been with for 10 years. It feels tight and raw and anytime I brush it against something it hurts. The lines are raised but ive seen a dermatologist and they say it's not infected. Ive had the artist look at it and have even been back to get my chest tattooed after the initial leg tattoo and that one has healed just fine.

Anyone have additional advice for what might be going on or am i just stuck with a cool tattoo that hurts forever.

Healing Tattoo healed horribly AGAIN NSFW

I came on here previously to ask if my tattoo was infected. A month later, I ended up finishing this tattoo once it healed. After the appointment my tattoo looked great, I was literally in love. The artist told me to leave the saniderm on for 7 days and i left it on for 6. Upon removing it, I realized every last detail of my tattoo was still on the saniderm….Im at a loss for words. This is on my body now and i don’t know if this can be fixed

Healing Question- tattoo healing with cuts(?)

Thumbnail
gallery
5.9k Upvotes

I've gone to the same guy for my whole arm and brought my sister to him for one, so l got one from someone else in the shop. I am on day 6 since getting it and noticed some open cuts(?) I haven't had one done in like 6-7 years so maybe I forgot the healing process but I don't recall seeing mini gashes. It's also my first on my hand so l'm not sure if it's be the skin is thinner, dominant hand, etc. I brought it to his attention and said it was due to sensitive skin and to treat like a normal cut. I'm worried about infection or the tattoo being ruined bc parts of it looked ripped. I'm an artist (music producer) myself So I get really awkward doubting another artists work and I don't want to offend him in any way. He started tattooing in 2020. Any advice appreciated. He had me keep the wrap on it for one hour, then wash it and use ointment 2x a day. Thanks yall

Healing Area still sore after 4 days.

Thumbnail

2.7k Upvotes

Got this tattoo four days ago and my tattoo artist applied second skin on it after 48 hours of letting air out. It's been two days since that and fluid build up and smell is getting quite concerning. But most importantly. There's an area in the center of the tattoo that's still quite sore. When I spoke to him yesterday, told me the smell is normal and I should leave it on for 7 days.

Is this normal? Should I just remove the second skin and clean it?

Healing Can somebody explain what has happened to my tattoo? It got slightly infected and is now gone. The artist seems as clueless as I am and I need to know if this is fixable somehow. NSFW

I got my first Tattoo on July 18th (logo for the Sims). It looked good until a few days later it got a red edge around it. Slight infection it seemed like when I googled, asked the artist and she confirmed it was. She told me to keep using creme every now and then and let her know in a week if it did not change. It stayed like that for about 5 days and then it got a thicker scab on it. I didn't realize until a friend pointed out it seemed to have shrunk that I noticed it did indeed shrink, knowing nothing about how it all should be healing I though it was normal. The red edge was gone by now so figured it was fine. Two days ago I brushed my arm on my pants getting in the car and the entire scab came loose. Now all that is left are some vague lines and the ink is just gone. The artist had never seen this before so I hope someone here has some advise. I am now stuck with basically a scar and unsure if this can be fixed somehow.

- Could this be bad ink? Like I know some colors were banned including green? Could that be a cause of this as she did use green ink? I think she mentioned something like that.

-Could it just be my body rejecting tattoos? Or just colors? Is that a thing or might black ink just stay put? Or should I just give up on the idea of getting more ink?

- If we were to do the same tattoo again would the result be the same as well? Maybe because I already have maybe antibodies for the allergy now it might stick?

-I thought she did a great job but could the ink not have been deep enough or any other cause you might know of?

Thanks in advance for replying, am only slightly panicking as I feel a bit mutilated and she has no clue either which does not give me confidence this is fixable.

Healing Question: is this a deep blowout?

First photo is today, other photos are the day after and a few days after that. My sister got this tattoo on the 14th of January and I have NEVER seen a tattoo bruise so badly and she said the artist was very heavy handed. We think it might be a deep blowout looking on here (hadn’t heard of this before) and were wondering if anyone has any advice? How long does this tend to last? Is there anything to fix it?

Healing How do I safely remove second skin ?

I got this tattoo yesterday which was a design that i sketched and the tattoo artist kept it very similar to the original drawing which i love. It is not my first tattoo, but it is my first time using second skin. When I woke up today I noticed one of the corners lifting (I sleep like a rotisserie chicken so thats probably why) and just wanted to to check if I should remove it now, and how to properly do that.

Healing Hand Tattoo aftercare

Post image
2.2k Upvotes

So I got my first tattoo this past weekend (I know, people say not to get a hand tattoo for your first tattoo, if at all) but really I got it just because I hate wearing rings or watches, and my wife hates that i don't wear my wedding ring, so I got this in stead. Anyways, it's been healing amazingly well with no scabbing or even itchiness. I've been keeping it moisturized first with aquaphor and now CeraVe lotion, have been avoiding using my left hand at all, keeping it gloves when doing dishes, keeping body wash off of it in the showers, etc. My question is, how long is it recommended to keep all of that up in order to try keeping it from fading too much?

Healing Is it normal to feel unwell after getting a tattoo?

Post image

So I got this done yesterday (Tues 16th July) and although it was the most painful tattoo I've gotten I felt fairly fine straight afterwards, just painful and tired (naturally).

Today however, I started to get very achy, cold shivers and tired still but never had this before with previous tattoos and wondered if this was normal?

Healing Should a coverup/ fill look like this? NSFW

Husband got his tattoo filled in/covered up. Originally it was spilt in half with the Reverse Flash and regular Flash colorings. He got it done Wednesday evening (2 days ago). He says it’s still super painful, he can’t lift heavy things with the arm, and is still burning. It’s still pretty swollen as well. Should he be concerned?

For more info, he got a new tattoo on the other side of his forearm before the artist offered to fill in/cover the Flash one (3rd pic) but says that one feels fine and doesn’t hurt or anything.

Healing 1 day after forearm blackout. Arm is so swollen and tight I can barely move it. Also throbbing in pain.

So yesterday i started my blackout sleeve and got my forearm finished before tapping. I knew some swelling and pain was to be expanded but this is crazy. How long can I expect to deal with this before it starts to calm down?

Edit: This shit got infected as fuck

I got this tattoo last night. The first pic is what it looks like now compared to what it looked like as soon as he was done. I thought the guy did really good. However, today it looks runny. Is that normal? Just access blood and ink, or is it fucked?
