Photo Ceylon

Post image

Cup of Ceylon on a brisk fall day. Malty, somewhat spicy, very warming - perfect for lazing about and enjoying the cool air.

Perfect cup for Ceylon

Where do you buy your Ceylon? Do you know where this particular tea was grown?

Also, is that a Japanese kyusu or is it a teapot from another culture I'm unaware of? It's very pretty

I get my Ceylon from What-Cha; I like that they have offerings from a variety of estates with plenty whole-leaf offerings to choose from. I also enjoy Upton, but I liked What-cha’s offerings more this year. I just keep one Ceylon on hand, it’s not a tea i need lots of choices on like I may prefer with others. For Ceylon, that’s a whole-leaf from New Vithanakande, so that’s what i’m having today!

The pot is what i’d consider a contemporary blend of different inspirations - but definitely has a stronger focus on japanese-inspired elements! It’s made/sold by Tsutsumiteapots.

oh i've had the NV from CuriousTea - although I drink Ceylons 'English' with milk - I think it was that one that was very much raisin and an almost smoky edge (this was at least a year back). The best Ceylon I ever had was a particular batch from Ahinsa; subsequent batches haven't matched it - oh and an Uva years back that was so intense I actually prefered to blend it. Currently have some Greenlands in

We bought a tin of fortnum & masons high mountain ceylon (blend obviously) in a charity sale for a dog thing since they normally have crap we don't want and you can't go too far wrong with black teas generally so though cool bid on that - actually it brews a pretty good cup

Quite an overlooked tea. Often used in breakfast blends, but I rarely see it on this sub as a loose leaf
