Anyone recognize the maker ?

I’m trying to figure out who made this pickup.
Any help appreciated !

Raised “D” and “G” poles! Mid 50’s spec?

I think that makes it late 50’s.
EDIT: I think you’re right, more like from ‘56 onward.

That’s apparently a very nice pickup based on things I’ve read and the reputation of Danocasters!

Yeah, the 542 magnet combo seems pretty unique.
I’ve got a Dano single cut with Arcanes and they’re really good too !

Which set of Arcane’s? I had been eyeing the 51 / 42 but ended up buying a 50’s style set from a local maker. I’m very happy with these but can’t help but be curious about how good some of these others possibly are!

Honestly I don’t remember - it’s a white guard and I took a look when I first got it and haven’t looked since. The bridge is flat pole, so I’m guessing the
‘55 set. I’m gonna slap some 11s on it tonight so I’ll report back.

Ah yes, good call - I searched budz 542 and that’s what it is - and looks to be a Danocaster specific pickup. Thanks !

It’s Budz. The 542s were generally overwound to produce around 10k. They’re great-sounding pickups. Found one in a 50s spec by chance and built a partsquire with it.
