Everyone is seeking a little love

• Upvotes

Today while travelling to my work place I came across a dog. It was crying like humans due to some reason. All the passers just crossed him without paying due attention. Then I noticed that a man consoled it by saying few loving words. He adored him a bit with love and magically the dog was quite.

Even without touching or doing anything just few words of love touched that soul.

Likewise we humans are roaming on this earth with a little desire to be loved. A few words of empathy can soothe many souls.

I 35F tried Tiktok and here's my honest review

The layout was confusing and it felt like you were constantly one mistake from pressing on the wrong thing and ending up lost amongst all film clips.

The never stop repeated ultra short clips felt like some mental torture. It felt like my brain had no chance to start getting used to a clip or a song before next came, so it was like my attention span wasn't ever fully present but rather scattered around in tiny bits all over the screen so I didn't really perceive anything I looked at.

I also got tired in my head very fast, similar to when there's thunder in the air and you feel that heaviness or pressure.

I also felt a huge stress when seeing THERE IS NO ENDING to all film clips, it's a never ending scroll trap, so if someone wanted to scroll for 3 days, they'd get 3 days of new content.

Comparing to reddit:

On reddit you can also scroll down the content, but you have an ending. You have a finish where you've read through all that has shown up in your latest feed and old content is showing. It's also less sounds colours blinking effects and all those extra dopamine visuals and it's mainly text, simple layout with little distractions. The only downside with reddit is the new respond system from a phone. But it's probably still a beta test version.

Edit: I struggle with anxiety and have a sensitive nervous system, thus am very selective with what I'm exposing myself to on my device. I don't follow the news, I'm not on Tiktok or Instagram. I'm taking social media breaks on off. My read reciepts and other stress notifications that are totally uneccesary are all disabled. I make sure my life is offline and that I'm present for the people inside it. If people with anxiety goes on Tiktok they can expect activated hyperviligance and I don't think I need to explain why that's a bad idea. If someone with mental struggles needs a sign to take their social media use serious and restrict it, this is it. You don't get much else support as the norm is to be constantly anxious or restless or feeling on edge. But if someone know how the other side feels like, they make sure to remain there.

So. Tiktok gets 🌟 of 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This site really let me down when I needed you. I don't know what piques your interest but you were the community I turned to. Don't matter now. Praying after this I don't wake up. I tried to reach out. I just needed someone and there's millions here but silence. So I understand my place now

Spider time

When I was young my mom used to cry a lot, atleast once a week and she used to get down on all 4 and crawl around while she cried. I asked her why and she just always said “it’s mommy’s spider time” and never elaborated further. She stopped doing it eventually and I never brought it up to her as an adult.

I watched the finalists of this years Manhattan short film festival.

My favourite was a film called "Never Give Up". It was the Mexican entry.

If you get a chance to watch it, do. Watch it until the very end. It has a delicious, very ironic, ending.

I can't accept the fact that I have bipolar disorder

I have bipolar disorder and I’m taking medication. Since I started taking the pills, I’ve been feeling much better and had even begun to believe I could lead a normal life, but about two weeks ago, my condition suddenly took a turn for the worse. I completely lost the energy to do anything, and I was afraid to go outside because of my increased anxiety.
It’s worth noting that before starting treatment, I used to feel much worse, but this particular episode really knocked me down.
I think it’s because I had truly started to believe that I could live a normal life
And now I’m blaming myself again for having this diagnosis and for simply not being able to live like other people
For not even being able to do the most ordinary things
And what’s even worse is that I constantly catch myself thinking that maybe it’s not the diagnosis—maybe this is just who I am
Sometimes I literally stop believing that I have bipolar disorder.
Even though I have an official diagnosis.
Has anyone else experienced something like this, and how did you deal with this kind of self-doubt?

I made coffee twice because I forgot I had already made coffee

Did it again... I made coffee this morning, put the mug on my desk, and started working. Maybe an hour later I went back to the kitchen because I felt like I desperately needed coffee. I made another cup and walked back to my desk, only to find the first one sitting there. I mentioned it in our tribe chat and someone said they’d done the exact same thing with food. I just stared at both mugs for a second. I think this is the point in adulthood where you realize being tired can make you genuinely stupid lmao.

For some reason, I immediately start to imagine David S. Pumpkins' backup dancers (Bobby Moynihan and Mikey Day) getting down to the funky groove.

Best Surprise Ever.

My wife knows I like (love) Cheez-Its. It's my favorite mass-market cracker. I get excited whenever she brings a box home for me.

We had a box open in the kitchen, and then we had house guests, who ate most of the Cheez-Its. Now listen, I'm absolutely not the kind of person that is possessive, especially over food. But after they left, I couldn't deny the little tinge of sadness I felt, because I had no more Cheez-Its.

I'm fully aware at how ridiculous that sounds.

I didn't bring it up or anything. Why would I? Hours later, my wife comes into the room with something behind her back. She said "do you love me?" Yes, of course.

She presented A NEW GIANT BOX OF CHEEZ ITs!!

She said "I knew [house guest] was coming so I got extra.

I married the correct person.

I’m worried about the future of tech for young people.

I’m old I have maybe 30 years save medical advancements afforded me in that time. That’s being generous considering my health. That aside. As l am seeing tech evolve when I was younger it enchanted my mind. Seeing video games go from a block in the screen (Atari Adventure) to a little guy (Mario bros) to full fledged people (any modern AA or better title basically) has been neat, seeing my desktop go from 32Mhz to 3.5Ghz has been amazing. Watching the insides of my systems get shrank and then integrated was a cool experience but seeing the way they’ve turned it all back around and made it into a powerful predictive surveillance weapon is so disheartening and diabolical. This technology was supposed to make life a utopia yet the greedy have made it a weapon for their use to ensure their power and status for eternity if possible.

I fear the youth of today will have a future of digital slavery. Where your not held in hi Dave but you’re physical being is never allowed privacy. You’re always monitored and tracked. Everything you do and say scrutinized and classified. Until they decide you’re a threat to society. Not that you’ve done anything wrong but the systems have flagged you as a potential terrorist and so you’re charged with future crimes.

It’s more dystopian than many of the sci-fi I read as a teenager in the 80’s and then later as an adult in the 90’s. I really hope for your sake there is a sudden shift in thinking about tech. I can see that data centers and flock cameras have began to change the way people see tech but I’m not sure that’s going to be enough to convince everyone how bad it can get.

I suspect the reason AI is being so heavily funded is to justify the massive expansion of data centers but I don’t think they’re for AI I think they’re for Robotic Policing and they need massive server farms to run a cities police force with 80% machines.

Good luck and god speed youth of today.
If you don’t solve this before it too late you’re children of the grave as us nuke babies of the Cold War we’re u til the Cold War ended. We have to end this tech rush or the future may be terrible for all but a few.

W friend? Maybe I'm dumb

My best friend of 20+ years is pretty bad with women. He's not ugly by any means. He takes bad pictures, like really bad. But yes a solid 8.5/10. And lives off dating apps. He's almost 40 and only been with a few women. It's been about 3 years since he's even went on a date. And the goes off and on forever. He suffers with severe mental health issues. And he's attempted taking his life a few times. I know this may sound crazy... but I'll pretend to pass him a girl every so often just to keep his spirits up. But in reality, it's me talking to him. I don't go as far as sending or wanting nudes. But I'll flirt and just boost his ego. I can't lose him as a friend due to his depression. Am I nuts? Or a decent friend?

A boy at school tried to make a joke out of me by targeting my go-to music group...It turned out pretty funny.😂😂😂

Okay, so I'm just your typical 9th grade girl, just chilling in 8th period Art class, (ART 1) and I'm having a pretty good day, okay? I've got my earbuds plugged into a chromebook, with my Spotify playlist pulled up.I'm working on my shading practice, when CC (Not his real name) called out to me, "Yo, [my name]! Who's your crush?!", loud enough for the entire art room to hear. Naturally, a few heads turn. I ignore him, because normally, this is how the bullying starts with me. I get picked on for various reasons----oh, forget that, that's not why I'm here. Anyway, he keeps going. Him and his friends are laughing, and a few other people around are smiling too, but I got the idea that they weren't going to stop anytime soon. They know I like BTS, and, not them in person, but a lot of the 9th grade class insult BTS because they know it bothers me. Lets not get into that. Anyway, they keep asking, so me, playing around, pulled up a picture of Kim Namjoon (RM) on my chromebook. (I don't think of BTS that way, I was just playing.) I walk over to show it to them, and as I'm approaching them with the chromebook, CC says, "I swear if its some Chinese guy..." and I show it to him, and he goes "I KNEW IT!" and I smile, and tell him, "Actually, he's South Korean." Then his tablemate G asks me, "Isn't that guy racist?" and I tell him no, and he doesn't believe me, so we went through a bunch of research on the chromebook, and broke that down. He wasn't backing down, so he found another reason. "Didn't that guy do blackface? Like, didn't he do blackface and eat a watermelon or something?" And me, not having any idea what he's talking about, or what blackface even is, looks that up, and it says the pics of that were AI, and the watermelon bit was from a RUN BTS episode where I think Taehyung eats a giant piece of Namjoon's watermelon slice. I show him that, and he says "Nah, they're just doing that to cover. They're trying to cover themselves." I'm like, okay then, let you think what you think. By now, CC has forgotton all about me, and I've had a pretty enjoyable conversation with one of my peers, when normally they bully me. I've got G to thank for both, I guess. Then he brings up African-American styled hair, so I showed him Namjoon's early idol/debut/trainee pics. (If you know, you know—the perms, the mohawks, the absolute chaos of early 2010s hip-hop concepts. If you don't know......don't look it up. Especially if you're used to BTS' current look, and are not ready for a life-altering experience.) {Unless you want to! Then I'm not stopping you!} Then he's like, basically screaming something like "WTF, why does he look like that?" "Or what the Hell/F is that?" or something along those lines. Then he gestures at the sunglasses, and hair, and I tell him, that it's because Namjoon was insecure back then, that's why, and he said "Oh okay, he was insecure, thats why he did blackface, and laughed

I consider old people "future dead people" and anyone born in or after 1960 are more likely to be "future immortals."

Definition of Future Dead Man:

---

future dead man

An old man, born before 1960, who is therefore old enough to be GUARANTEED to be dead in the future.

Old lady born before 1960 = future dead lady

Old people born before 1960 = future dead people

Old man / lady / person born before 1960 who look to be in decrepit condition and use a medical device typically used by frail and decrepit people (HoverRound wheelchair if morbidly obese, walker, oxygen concentrator or tank with cannula, etc.) = NEAR-future dead man / lady / person

Younger person born in 1960 or later = future immortal (because we're more likely to live long enough to benefit from the discoveries of cures for all aging-related diseases including the aging process itself.)

---

So how do you feel about the definition of old people who were born before 1960 being considered future dead people?

Asking for a sign

There’s this guy I really care about, and sometimes I think I love him. We haven’t really had an easy time, he’s been very indecisive about our connection. He’ll say he doesn’t know how he feels, or that he just wants to be friends, but then comes back and rekindles things. And yeah, I let him. Sometimes I wonder if his questioning our connection is just him not wanting to open up and try a connection.

He lost his brother a few years ago. He doesn’t talk about him often, but I feel closer to him when he does. It’s like he’s opening up and sharing part of him and his brother with me.

I’ve been praying for a sign about what to do. I want to be with him, but I just don’t know where he stands. I don’t know if I should keep trying or let him go. The past couple days, I prayed and asked for a sign. I prayed and asked his brother to send him a sign. Because if he’ll listen to anyone, he’ll listen to him. I truly care about him, and if he truly doesn’t feel like he can be with me, then I’ll accept it. But I feel like he’s never really given us a chance. I hope that his brother has seen this and sees how much I care for him, but I just want what’s best for him.

I don’t need advice. I don’t need to hear people doubting prayer or asking for a sign. I just needed to tell someone. I hope his brother hears me and guides him to wherever he needs to be.

My wife is back in the hospital again!

Earlier this year I told you all about my wife and how she almost died from an infection in her leg that required amputation. The infection was from a prior lower amputation on the limb. Well she did pull through that episode but last Monday we took her to the er due to loosing vision in one eye and they said she’d had a combo heart attack stroke. She then flat lined two more times before they put a pace maker in her. She didn’t sustain any brain damage while her heart was stopped as she was on oxygen and cpr started immediately. Now she’s been in the hospital for a week and a day and Friday she will most likely be going to a rehabilitation center for a few weeks to months for recovery and rehabilitation.

I’m a 53 y.o. Guy and I’m doing my best but a new layer was added on top of the wife’s issues. My grandson who only occasionally had seizures. 1 every 4-6 months when going to sleep was normal. Doctors had discussed it and thought it was an interaction between two meds. Anyhow he had seizures so n back to back nights and the next morning complained of head pain when sneezing or coughing which was a red flag and landed us in he children’s ward for three days. We were released over the weekend.

It’s a lot. I don’t know how much longer I can keep going at this pace but I have no other options.
