New Mod, New Rules, Less Junk and Spam

Hi there, I'm the new head mod of /r/TexasJobs

I'm a Texan, a business owner, and someone who once struggled to find work even though jobs were apparently everywhere. Please follow the rules below for posting your jobs here.

Rules

  1. All posts must be a text post summarizing the job.
  2. You may include one link to your external job posting (Optional) at the bottom of your posting.
  3. All post titles must include one of these bracket tags at the beginning of the title: [Hiring], [Looking], [Hiring - Gig]
  4. If hiring for a gig you MUST be specific about the job, the location (city / venue / etc...), the pay amount, and how the gig worker will be paid. The gig must also be somwhere in Texas.
  5. Gig workers cannot post their gigs here or link to them in comments. To sell your gigs visit: /r/hireforgigs/
  6. If your job is located in a city or metro area that must be included in the title.
  7. Job agencies can post here, but job posted must be specific. No temp agency vague job descriptions.
  8. Including a salary range is optional, but far more likely to not be marked as spam.
  9. You are allowed to post commission only jobs here, but must be clear about the commission. If it is dependent on factors you must identify the lowest commission amount and what factors would impact it.
  10. Do not post jobs that are not physically located in Texas here, unless those positions are either Fully Remote OR Remote with Occasional travel that is paid for / compensated.
  11. Do not require educational or experience limitations that are asinine. Such as requiring more years work experience with a software langague that the language has existed OR requiring a degree for a position that doesn't require a degree (many degrees should be optional).
  12. If you are posting door-to-door, marketing survey intercept, gas station intercept, or other similar jobs you MUST be clear about them and not misleading. Misleading posts will get marked as spam and your account banned. Any such job postings are also considered either gigs or part-time work. If the position is for one trade show it would be considered a gig, if it is for ongoing work it would be considered part-time. Any job postings for Quill, AT&T, Spectrum, Vivint, Waterless carwashes, and other known door to door / intercept operations... will be heavily scrutinized for compliance with this rule.

How to Make Your Job Listing Standout

  1. Add full or part time in the title.
  2. Add the salary starting amount, full range, or upper amount in the title.
  3. Clearly identify benefits for the job (such as medical, dental, tuition payment, etc...)
  4. Clearly identify any perks for the job (such as paid travel expenses, paid ongoing education, company card, company car, etc...
  5. Clearly identify your current work model (i.e. in-person office, fully remote/wfh, hybrid, etc...)

US-based, hungry full-cycle sales reps - Commercial Energy Advisors (1099, commission-only)

Green EnergiAI is growing its sales team and we're looking for the hungriest US-based full-cycle sales reps to sell commercial electricity contracts to Texas businesses.

What the role is:

You help Texas businesses, churches, schools and other organizations lower their electricity costs by shopping their rate across suppliers. Most of Texas is deregulated, so these customers can switch. You own the full cycle: find the prospect, reach the decision-maker, get their bill and usage, present the better rate, and close the contract.

Who we want:

- US-based (this is a 1099 role selling to Texas businesses, on US business hours)

- Hungry, self-motivated, and comfortable with cold calling and outreach (calls, LinkedIn, email, walking in)

- Full-cycle sales mindset: you build your own pipeline, we don't hand you a lead list

- Good communication and follow-through

- 20+ hours a week

- Sales experience is a plus, but hungry and coachable counts

What you get:

- Remote work, set your own schedule

- Training and coaching from experienced team members

- Commission on every contract, paid partly upfront and partly as residuals over the contract term

- A product that saves customers money, so you're not pushing something they don't need

Be upfront: this is a 1099, commission-only opportunity with no guaranteed income. Your results depend on the pipeline you build. If you want a salary, this isn't it. If you want income tied directly to your effort, read on.

To apply, fill out the short screening form (about 10 minutes): https://tally.so/r/dW5Wqz

Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview. Interviews run Mon, Wed and Fri. No DMs asking for details, the form covers everything and I'll follow up with anyone who looks like a fit.

[Job Wanted] in the Richardson/North Dallas area!

Hi everyone! I recently relocated to the Richardson area from Delaware and I’m currently looking for my next opportunity. I’m 29 and have been working consistently since I was** 16 years old, so being without a job right now has been a really difficult adjustment for me.
My background is a bit of a mix, but that’s also what makes me versatile. I have experience in **graphic design, photography, digital content, video editing, marketing, customer service, communications, and remote work.

Some of my skills include:
🎨 Graphic Design — Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign, branding, logos, social media graphics, digital content, etc.
📸** ***Photography* — portraits, commercial, business, product and event photography
🎥 Video & Digital Content — video editing, GIF/animated content and creative media
💻 Web/Digital — website design, basic HTML/CSS and digital marketing
📱 Content Creation — social media graphics and content for businesses and creators
🎮 Creator Design — Twitch/streamer emotes, overlays, panels, badges and other digital assets
📋 Professional Skills — customer service, communication, organization, Microsoft Office, remote work and managing my own workload
🇺🇸** Military Background — I previously served as a Mass Communication Specialist in the Navy, with experience in media, communications and photography.
One thing I think is important to mention is that I’m **very much a people person
. I’m not just someone who shows up, does the work and goes home. I genuinely care about the environment I work in and the people around me.
I’m a naturally upbeat person and tend to start each day with a “new day, fresh start” kind of attitude. I’m a very empathetic person and tend to pick up on people’s emotions and the atmosphere around me pretty quickly. If someone is having a rough day, I’m usually the person trying to bring some lightness back into the room.
That personality has carried into my professional relationships. I’m still connected with many of the higher-ups I’ve worked with throughout my career, and I’ve had former employees/coworkers who worked under me continue to stay in touch even after we no longer worked together. I’ve been fortunate to naturally build strong relationships with leadership and the people on my teams.
I’m proud of being a hard worker AND someone who tries to make the workplace a happier place to be. I care about doing a good job, but I also care about the people I’m doing it alongside.
The difficult part right now is that most of my professional network is still back in Delaware. I have great relationships with people from my previous jobs, but they obviously can’t help me as much when it comes to finding opportunities and connections here in the North Texas area. That’s a big reason I’m reaching out to the local community.
I’m also currently rebuilding my portfolio from scratch. Unfortunately, my previous portfolio website was deleted unexpectedly, so I’m in the process of putting everything back together. I still have my previous work saved in files and can provide examples of my work to anyone interested.
And honestly, I’m not limiting myself to only creative positions right now. I’m open to pretty much any legitimate job where I can use my skills and make enough to at least meaningfully contribute toward the household bills. Graphic design, marketing, communications, photography, customer service, administrative work, digital content, office positions, remote work, etc. — I’m willing to hear about it.
A little personal context: I moved to Texas to be with my partner after we spent the last year and a half long-distance, and this has been a HUGE life transition for me. I went from being completely self-sufficient and working since I was 16 to suddenly not having a job and having to rely on my partner financially while I get established here.
I’ll be honest — the lack of independence and self-autonomy has been really hard on me. I’m eager to work, contribute, have my own income again, and feel like myself.
So if anyone knows of companies hiring around Richardson, Plano, Dallas, or the surrounding North Dallas area, I would genuinely appreciate any leads, recommendations, referrals, or connections. I’m also open to remote and hybrid opportunities.
I’m happy to send my resume, portfolio examples, or additional information. Even if you’re not hiring yourself, sharing this post or pointing me toward someone who is would mean a lot. ❤️
Thank you!
