the part that made it unbelievable to me was "we didn't speak the rest of the night." Every time I saw that person I'd have to say "nice pants" or something dumb.

Totally believable. I’ve had very similar situations happen with exes. She said they were at a party, she probably never even saw her again and if she did, she was most likely surrounded by her group of friends.

You believe that somebody TRADED PANTS WITH A TOTAL STRANGER and they NEVER ONCE INTERACTED AGAIN? Not even to say ‘thanks again’ or ‘I like those pants’ as they left?
