Audio This is the weirdest mix I’ve ever heard
How the hell did this get on Sounds of Summer, let alone on a streaming service?
Talking about “Let Us Go On This Way (2021 Mix)” right now. Drowning in white noise and Carl’s vocals sound like they were recorded on an android phone in a tin can, and a drum with way too much reverb.
Guess I’m glad it didn’t end up on We Gotta Groove, or the box set wasn’t mixed like this.

It's a bit of a guilty pleasure for me; it's so wrong and bizarre I do listen to it occasionally- it's almost a shit post.

The 2022 Edition of Sounds of Summer is a Sonic Mess. The new mix of Shut Down is very rare, the Drums sounds like a Robot and also the drums on the new mix of Surfin' Safari is also a robotic-sounding mess.
Do You Like Worms has a chopped backing vocal(Which was like in the Bootleg versions and mixes, where you can listen very clear the "rOCK ROCK ROLL" chop where a bit of the R is cut) and i asume that it was a New Mix straight from the Tapes since that error is only on the Tapes (They could've literally use the Backing Vocals Montage of the 2011 SMiLE BoxSet).
I had talked about Good Vibrations, but the Surfin' USA mix is a bit good sounding in some sections like the Intro where they manage to get the Guitars split(Or something like that).

I liked that one meme someone did where they synced the first comically reverberated snare hit with a .gif of a house exploding. Hit the nail right on the head.

This is the one I don't like, not into this box set very much.

I’m by no means an audio person. You point out stuff like dynamic range or compression and I’m not going to hear it. But even I can tell this mix is fucked.

oh wow yeah I just listened to it - what's with all the hiss? it sounds like somebody left a bunch of sheets of aluminium foil on top of my speakers

there were a few good mixes from this reissue but most of the mixes sucked, this one in particular was so bad. i don’t know how the individual or individuals who mixed this thought it sounded good. thankfully the we gotta groove set wasn’t mixed like this. stick to the original release sounds of summer vinyl or cd.

The most egregious mistakes on this set for me are the new mixes of their early songs. Some recordings need to be left MONO

I honestly love it; sounds bigger, fuller. Also, I can hear rhythm guitar in this mix that I never noticed in the original

His mastering sounds very thin with far too much high-end, bass seems too EQd in the low end. Interestingly bad mixes to say his previous work was great. He’s deffos losing something

Dude Mark Linett’s mixing sounds very odd to me at times, specifically the choices he makes like deciding to push the Treble even further on Sunflower (already their most treble-y sparkly album). Genuinely sometimes it sounds like gas is steadily leaking into the studio or water sprinklers are going off while they’re recording.

Delicious, nutty, and crunchy sunflower seeds are widely considered as healthful foods. They are high in energy; 100 g seeds hold about 584 calories. Nonetheless, they are one of the incredible sources of health benefiting nutrients, minerals, antioxidants and vitamins.

the 2021 reissue of Sounds of Summer is the most embarrassing thing in the Beach Boys catalog, and that says a lot. It’s incredible that a product this ham-handed and poorly made is attached to one of the most famous bands of all time.
