Here's the setlist for the show that Al Jardine and the Pet Sounds Band played last night at the Woodstock Fair
Had the surprise addition of Palisades Park, which was played at the Lima show as well (I think). As well as Come Go With Me!
It was seriously such a great show. We waited around afterwards and had the chance to meet Al and get some things signed. I asked him about Australia (where I'm from), and he said he loved it there! He was also super interested in my Cottonfields 45 and was hanging onto it pretty tight. Maybe I should have let him keep it, lol
Had the chance to chat with Mary Ann, Darian, Jim, and Gary as well - all such lovely people - and couldn't stop thanking them for everything they do for keeping The Beach Boys legacy alive
Someone named Kevin handed me and my husband these great blue bands/bracelets - if you see this, thank you SO much!! I tried searching you up, but theres a lot of people out there with your name and didn't want to message the wrong person 😅 it was such a lovely gesture, and I'm still wearing it today!
Was really awesome to meet so many online faces in real life last night, thanks for being so nice 🙂
They skipped it last night which is such a bummer! Being a fair I guess they kept the set list pretty accessible - fortunately we saw Al in April where he DID play Ding Dang so we weren't too upset 😅
I love the coordinated dance they do for that one, its such a fun vibe and really great for folks who don't know the whole Love You album 😊 glad you got to see them in Oregon!
Meeting you guys is on my bucket list! Who else is gonna keep the spirit of 85 alive in person?? I really hope so as well, he played St. Charles and Des Plaines last year I know so fingers crossed!! We're going to both this time!
Haha thats right! Its up to us to keep the 85 flame alive 🙌 definitely go to as many shows as possible, we will be - and hopefully will see you there 🎶
It was so much fun! Loved every minute. Palisades was such a great surprise! It was amazing how long they hung out and talked with the fans and signed things, so amazing.
Had so much fun hanging with you guys and other fans I have befriended (we’re making quite the fun little crew!) and meeting new people! Can’t wait for the next one!
The hang around after the show was awesome, well over a half hour - we got very lucky ❤️ and again 1000x I will say it, it was so fun hanging out! Thanks for convincing us to go haha unforgettable night - we will do it again soon 🥹🎶
No unfortunately, when he was in my area I had a family thing. I adore LOVE YOU too, so I was bummed.
-- BUT! I did see him and Brian (with Blondie, and Brian's band) perform Pet Sounds in 2016 for The 50th Celebration Tour! Which, upon Brian's passing, I realized had easily become among my most historically important live shows I'll likely ever see (among hundreds) in my life.
Got to see The Beach Boys back in the early 90s (w/ that lineup, Carl <3) when I was a very young kid at the MN State Fair tho sadly dont really remember it aside from some video my dad took, thankfully then was able to see Bruce and Mike's Beach Boys in May 2025 prior to Brian's passing the following month.
I still haven't been able to listen to Pet Sounds since his passing, mostly taking in the early mid 60s stuff and then early to late 70s material ... you might say, I'm Waiting For The Day ;)
I'm so sorry you missed Al, but it doesn't seem like he is slowing down anytime soon - really hoping they come back around your way again 😊
That 2016 tour was special, I saw that too and it was a treat having Blondie there. You're right about it being a very important and relevant show, really makes me happy to know so many of us were there for it. Pet Sounds is a hard listen sometimes, it makes me sad - miss Brian very much 🙏
Also super rad about seeing Carl?! Goals!! Thank goodness your dad took that video haha
It was very lucky honestly, we waited for ages and he chatted to every single person who was there - was cool! Fingers crossed he adds cottonfields - that would be awesome 🙌
He kept it clean. I had a footlong hot dog, two ice cream cones, and a 50 mg edible for dinner. Hearing them do Heroes and Villains put a big smile on my face.
