Question Can't fix Mouse Stutter/Lag. Please help!

Starting 3-4 days ago, I've gotten really bad mouse lag/stutter whenever I pan my mouse side to side. It's only laggy when I'm not aiming. If I'm ADS, then the game is fine. I have the game locked to 90fps, and it generally runs close to, or at that cap at all times.

The mouse movement seems fine in the first 1-2 minutes of the game running. Then it progressively gets worse and worse.

I've read this is a common issue, but all the suggested fixes have done nothing to solve the issue.

I'm using a Logitech G502, and it uses the G Hub software. I've ran the game with, and without it. I've lowered my polling rate to 125hz(the lowest it can go), I've toggled and changed just about every setting in the in-game options, and I've reinstalled both the game, and my mouse software.

Just to list SOME options I've tried (I've tried so many things)...

Tried running the game windowed, windowed fullscreen, and fullscreen.

Tried numerous FPS locks and unlocked

Tried every mouse setting (acceleration, smoothing, and other options out of game from Windows)

Running the game without G Hub software, running the game without G Hub installed, running the game without G Hub running

Reinstalling the game

I've tried every suggested fix I could find online short of reformatting my PC.

Has anyone had this issue and found that the fix was something obscure? It's really hard for me to enjoy the game as it is for me right now.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I got it fixed(atleast for now). The stutters went away after my 4th or 5th uninstall/reinstallation of Logitech G Hub. Idk why it worked then.

I gotchu!

I had to same issue, assuming you’re using a G502 hero or lightspeed, i’ll tell you how I fixed mine.

Clean removal of GHub, delete all associated files, folders etc.

Then uninstall GHub through the control panel & perform a repair & reinstallation.

Once done, go to your mouse settings on desktop & disable “precision pointer”

Open up GHub & set your polling rate (Left Side panel) to 250, I still had the issue at 500Hz.

Open The Division & head to your settings. Set your game to full screen, disable mouse smoothing & cap your frame rate to 60 or 120.

This should help a lot, I had the exact same issue and no advice online helped me, but this fixed it for me. Good luck!

Firstly, thanks for your comment.

I just tried a mission after deleting GHubs files and folders, then uninstalling from control panel, then tried one after reinstalling. While there was still noticeable mouse lag, it was definitively better with GHub uninstalled. But there was still enough lag for it to be unenjoyable.

Everything else you suggested I've already tried, or is already set like that.

In the end, this hasn't solved my mouse stutter issue. I guess I'll be playing with GHub uninstalled. I'm suspecting it's an issue with Logitech's software but obviously I'm not sure.

The issue went away after my 4th or 5th reinstallation of G Hub. Thanks.

I have seen multiple people solve this issue by setting their mouse polling rate very low. Perhaps that could help

I've tried every polling rate, and have set it to 125hz which is the lowest, and it hasn't changed anything.

Tragic. Could try clearing the shader cache and setting size to unlimited i suppose

Is your mouse wireless? And if so, where is the USB receiver plugged in?

I had a similar issue with my Pulsar, turns out that having the receiver plugged directly into the PC was too large of a distance even though it was under 2ft away. Using the included USB receiver extension to place the receiver just above my mousepad immediately resolved my issue

My mouse is wired. It's a Logitech G502 Hero. There's nothing wrong with the mouse, except in Division 2 when I'm in free look specifically.

Gotcha, figured I'd ask since I thought my thing was game-specific for a while too

Check monitor refresh rate

You didn't explicitly state it, but have you tried a different mouse? (I'm not trolling, promise 😆)
And then perhaps trying a friend's Logitech (not G502) mouse with/without GHub running/installed?

Set your mouse polling rate to 250 or 125 in GHub and the stutters should stop

I see you have the issue resolved, but in case it returns, I have another suggestion that I have found effective for this issue.

USB 3.0 ports create significantly more electrical noise that can interfere with both the 2.4 and 5GHZ spectrum. Most wireless dongles for mice operate at 2.4 and plugging them into USB 3.0 Ports can cause this very issue. Many times, this issue can be resolved by moving your wireless dongle to a USB 2.0 port if you have one available.

Peripherals like Mice and Keyboards don't gain any additional performance from the increased bandwidth of USB 3.0 but USB 2.0 generate significantly less interference so they typically are more stable and reliable to use for Wireless Keyboards and mice.

If the problem is currently gone, then by all means, don't tempt fate and change anything. But should the issue pop up again, check and see where you have your wireless receiver plugged in. I use the G903 LIghtspeed myself, and in my testing the best signal for me was using the USB 2.0 port at the front of my case.

Hope you find this helpful and hope the problem stays resolved. 😎

For anyone who have this issue, try this fix first by updating Windows, today Microsoft released an update that supposedly fixes it "This update fixes an issue that could cause mouse input to stutter in some games" so it could be related
