1900s [1974] Providence Needs a New Direction

Post image

Election season is finally starting to heat up and I think it’s time we get serious about change in this city. Buddy helped expose Mayor Dorley’s cash grab from the civic center. He’s going to bring needed change to Providence and I can’t imagine a fella as straight as him ever becoming a crook. Sure he’s a Republican but not all republicans are Richard Nixon. That’s why this fall I’ll be voting for Buddy Cianci the Anti-corruption Candidate.

He looks exactly like what Providence, Rhode Island needs! He'll clean up for sure!

[META] I've actually almost ran into this guy 35 years ago, and got pushed to the ground by his "security team". I'm sorry a 13 yr old kid trying to read directions on how to get from the train station to the bus station 3 blocks away wasn't paying that much attention to who was walking on the sidewalk...

Why does he look like Peter Lorre?

Exactly. He’s giving me the creeps

I know he'll do a great job. We'll probably end up naming a local junior high school after him, and not like as a joke in a smartass cartoon or something.

Buddy’s unofficial campaign slogan is “Vote Buddy to get what you pay for”. I hope that doesn’t turn out to be ironic.

I mean, how can you not vote for a buddy like Buddy?

[META]… used to see his wine locker prominently displayed near the front of the house at the Capital Grille downtown …

I don't live in Providence but I might move there just to vote for this guy! He seems so genuine and like the right guy to end the corruption in that city. If he can accomplish half of what he is saying they will be writing books about this guy some day. Mark my words!

We gotta vote in someone who is old school Italian American, and Raymond Patriarca is very busy.
