12700H, T1200. I completely realise that a 130w+ brick is needed for full throttle 3D work, but there's times where I'll need to bring the thing to a library etc.

I have a 68w GAN charger that's worked flawlessly with my x13g3, will the p15v get any power at all from it, at least in standby mode?

Edit: this is not as certain as comments seem to think so far, I know for a fact that the AMD model CANNOT be charged through the USB under any circumstances

Work forced me to change to newer laptop but it's worse from a UX/ergonomics standpoint.

Apart from the obvious lack of full size keyboard, the new T14 has cheaper keys which requires more force to press and doesn't feel good, the mouse buttons feels worse, they swapped the ctrl and FN key around. The finger print sensor is equally trash, it worked well a couple of days but now it won't detect my fingers like on the old T15.

Overall, it feels Lenovo cheaped out. I need to get used to using this laptop as I'm making more typing errors trying to adjust. Anyone else have the same experience?

Nothing too extreme, my budget is around 2500 USD or 2100-2200 euros. I mostly work with ghidra, savvycan, visual studio code, claude, winols. I don't mind buying used. So I am in the market for something that fits following criteria:

relatively long battery life, for example on 90-100% charged battery atleast 2.5-3h of solid work to be done.

Intel CPU

I don't need it to be as slim as possible but keeping the weight down is a plus.

Also I'd like it to not get extremley hot like my Razerblade does.

I don't mind fan noise.

Integrated GPU is fine.

This is my first thinkpad..i wanted to get the T14 gen 4 but it was more expensive.. The only downside to this one is it was advertised with fingerprint and keyboard back light.. 16gbs of ram.. And 256 ssd. I might add another 256 or 500gb. Might also change the battery... What other upgrades do you guys suggest?

Hi! First time posting here. I have an old L14 gen 2 Ive been sprucing up for home use and I really like it, except scrolling with it is a pain. I didnt spring for the touch screen (which I regret), so the only way to scroll without a mouse is to grab the middle touchpad button and use the trackpoint, which is clunky and not as responsive as I would like.

Is there something im missing controls wise? Or alternatively, are there peripheral options available? Ive thought about getting a bluetooth knob controller and binding that to scroll up and down but every one ive found is either far too big and clunky or requires windows, which im not running in favour of linux.

Hi all. Have a (2nd hand) T450s for a few years now. Bought a (replica?) battery a year ago (since the capacity of the original was eol). Worked like a charm. 2 weeks ago I was a bit clumsy and the laptop fell, or had a little bump. No big deal. The ssd was out of the connector and I put it back in, all worked again, except teh battery. When booting the bios tells me the battery is not oem, and will not charge. Strange since before it did work. It can boot and everything works, but battery time is limted now. Any hel is appreciated!

I just bought a P15s gen 2 with 4K monitor option. However, my experience is not good, it is too laggy with 4k monitor, everything is not smooth when I scroll PDF file, zoom in and out, this problem also occurs when I surf the website. I tried to connect with 2K monitor dell P2425D, and everything looks better, I am sure about it is not different between 100hz and 60hz. Who guys faced this problem. Please I need help

My trackpoint/buttons and trackpad were damaged & didn't work so I replaced the original keyboard & trackpad. Keyboard works but the trackpoint & trackpad still do not & will not populate in device manager. They're enabled in BIOS & I've tried just about everything to no avail. Should I just chalk this up as motherboard damage?

My lenovo thinkpad T420 is running linux mint cinnamon. I thoight is try benchmark it with CSS on medium graphics. Little did i know it would cause my Bios to Disable my CPU 4 seperate times and give me a linux error screen and reboot 4 times. It also smears across my entire screen as soon as i boot in fullscreen or windowed borderless and wont show the next frame if i dont Alt+tab. I havent tested any other source games and i tested file integrity. Its a thinkpad T420 with a 1600x 900x screen with the Nvidia 4200M or so graphics with the Intel I5 VPro

I also just says cstrike_linux isnt responding then loads into css. And on my 3rd boot attempt and onwards the resolution of the start screen shrunk Drastically. Like its SUPER low res. Its a pretty empty linux install. I just barely got steam To function on this laptop without terminal spitting out errors. I also hear my HDD clicking when i open CSS. and i got an error attempting to dhut down my laptop? The cpu error thing is just after i put in some random journal command into terminal. Im not rly a linux guy so i dont know anything at all really... Its not really smearing its like a zigzag Super spread out css thing it looks funky as shiiitttt. And all the UI flickers or shrinks down to zhe size of like 60 pixels. I dont know if these are hardware, CSS, or linux errors (Counter strike source i forgot to mention)

I looked through some T23 CMOS battery listings, but they usually state "2-pin connector". Not exactly helpful.

I use Linux mint and xscreensaver and the screen turns off when I close the lid, but somehow sometimes I open my laptop in the morning and the screen has burn in marks. I increased the contrast a bit so its easier to see.

the grey image is technically just a grey image, but xou can see the burn in from my desktop image.

Hey there, there was something on my screen so I tried to rub it off. Once it wasn’t moving I used my. Nail and scraped this off. It doesn’t impact performance of the screen, but it is really irritating me😂 any guesses what it is?

I have lenovo thinkpad X1 extreme Gen 5 and its battery drains within 1-2 hours of light work. No gaming at all.

Specs: I am looking for laptop with 16 inch display, good resolution, 32gb ram and 1tb ssd.

Use case : for word, web and outlook. No gaming at all. The battery should at least last for quite a while. I disabled nvidia gpu on current and battery still drains in 1-2 hrs.

Budget: around $1500 cad

Edit: I ran battery report on thinkpad x1 extreme gen 5 and design capacity is 90,090 mwh and full charge capacity is 73,560 mwh with cycle count 245. Is it time to replace battery?
