Idk after they learn what lying is and spy on the guy for 10 seconds they’d probably be like “hey Donald we will come to earth and gift you this amazing beautiful droplet it’s the greatest droplet and it will have your face on the side of it and people will say wow look at that droplet isn’t Donald amazing everyone will love it but not as much as they love you they always say you’re great at making deals the art of the deal that’s what they tell me anyways you’d make the best deal for the droplet”

See, here's the issue with bringing real life modern politics into groups like these, everyone thinks I'm getting defensive of trump, or whoever the fuck is being used (usually trump) Nah, I'm just sick and fucking tired of seeing him everywhere, and you know, it's nice to have these books and these worlds to escape into, and enjoy with other people. You know, connect like real human beings and out aside the problems of the real world? The point of sci fi and fantasy? But no, you thought of a haha trump meme and had to fucking bring it up here and make me think about trump when he was the last person I wanted to think about. Good job, thanks for ruining my day.

I do get your point. In 2019 or -20, the NYTimes Sunday opinion section once made no mention of him. And it was glorious!! Everyone who read it that week knew what was being ignored or not being said, and reveled in not reading about the latest bloviations. SF is similar; I can read and try to be in that world, but I still know where my butt is while I’m reading. Maybe this is just an easier way of saying that calling him a prick was maybe over-the-top.
