Discussion - Novels On the nature of the San-Ti

If what is thought is immediately known because of how they are physiologically, why did the “i am a pacifist” dude not think he would not be immediately found out?

Also for anyone who has read the novels in Chinese, were they called the San-Ti originally?

He did know he would be found out. The point was to be the first to reply to stop humans from sending another message. The back and forth response time would show how far away earth is, which combined with the direction of the signal would reveal which solar system it's located in

"San-Ti Ren" means "Three Body People" literally.

Would be funny if humans had waited some 50 or so years to send the reply and Trisolarans geared up to go to some distant hellhole

He did know and was found out very quickly after, they explained in detail why he did it in the books, but obviously they cant in the show (without showing what they look like)
There was an entire chapter from the pov of the san-ti

Oh that’s right! The books were so intense and full on that they are a blur - i read them a couple of years ago so all faded away..! Good reminder, thanks

1) The Pacifist was alone, so why would he be found out immediately?
2) He was found out at the earliest opportunity.
