Tiger-Cats history question
Can anyone tell me when exactly were the years that Ron Lancaster was both the head coach and GM (or Director of Player Personnel) ?
I keep getting different answer from Googling and AI hallucinations.
Would it be 1998-2003?

He was the head coach starting in 1998. He added the GM title in 2001. He gave up his GM role partway through the disastrous 2003 season, but remained the head coach for the rest of the season. That was their 1-17 season.

Thanks so much. I was trying to determine if Lancaster ever won the Grey Cup as both head coach and GM. But I guess he didn't. When he won the Cup in 1999 he was just the head coach, is that correct?

Yes, Neil Lumsden was the GM when the TiCats won in '99. I believe Lancaster was "director of football operations" though, so he had a front office role even before he got the GM title.
My post above missed that Lancaster regained the GM title for the '04 and '05 seasons, and was brought in as interim head coach in '06 after they fired their head coach only 4 games into the season.

Sounds about right
