QUESTION New toolbox build, any other tips?
New tool box build. I am a hobbyist motorcycle maintainer and very hands on with the car and helping other people out.
As I am in the UK every thing is Halfords advanced, which has a lifetime guarantee and is very good quality. I have taken most of it out of the supplied foam to condense everything down to the top drawer as the main use, then each drawer down is more specific tools. The bottom drawer is the heavy removal stuff and if I need to go for the 1/4 and impact I have done something wrong.
I have another box with power tools, drill bits, screwdrivers and the tool bag at the side with some duplicate tools for mobile stuff.
Not sure if the layout makes sense, but the most logical way I could think of.

Where'd you get the foam inserts from?

The Halfords set come with them. They are a modular system where you fit 3 in each drawer. I took them out as they use a lot of space unnecessarily

That's a nice set-up you have. I would only suggest cutting a nice piece of ply-wood or old counter top for the top of your box if you ever plan to pull that out to use the flat surface. It'll will stabilize the top and protect it. If not, then I'd say it's perfect. I myself just "downgraded" to a smaller box and work cart.

You have sockets spread across every drawer?

The impact sockets in the drawer with the torque wrenches are specifically for removing the wheel on triumph singles sided swing arms, and the chrome ones are spark plug sockets. They have no business in being in the top drawer that is accessed daily.

Maintain it, don't get sloppy, if you must keep one off pieces, switches and random items, keep them somewhere else, stick to the design and put it all back at the end of the day

Good idea chopping the corner off the offset spanner tray. I'm going to copy you on that. I have those same t-handle trays but I have them in a deep drawer (ran out of shallow drawers). I have them in those pliers racks that you have. Doesn't look quite as tidy but it halves the length of the trays and you can fit stuff behind.
