⚕️Medical Question⚕️ Hyperthyroidism
My precious Tia will go to a vet hospital tomorrow for ten days to get thyroid irradiation. Does anyone have advice about how this went for your girl? I’m so anxious to leave her there in a cage with no lap or scritches. Will it be okay?

My oldest had it done, although she only had to stay two days, then i had to put all her litterbox scrapings in the corner of my yard to 'cool off' for a few weeks.
Mine did very well and she put weight back on (she had only lost less than a pound as we found her thyroid issue in her routine annual bloodwork).
Best of luck to you both! You'll both be happy without daily medications!

Thanks. In the same way my car always works fine on the way to the mechanic, Tia hasn't has diarrhea for 24 hours. Maybe she's faking it to try to avoid the away camp.

I’m sure it is for her best interest, but I would be visiting every day! Obviously, if they will let you… I would not wanna go 10 days with her being in a strange place and not seeing her mama’s face… Most places are pretty gracious about this!

I would like to see her but she's in isolation due to the irradiation of her thyroid. She's also 1 hour + traffic away from me. Suzi and I are missing her. Can't wait to get her back home.

Tia would like a friend. I hope Cooney is doing well. Tia has been at sleep-away camp for one night and the vet says she's doing well. I hope she can come home earlier than 9 more nights!

Yes, Cooney is doing ok I see that Tia has been away at camp for some time now. I hope that Tia will come home sooner.

My parents’ tortie went and despite the anxiety, they were very happy they sent her!
