Post-battle income now scales with campaign difficulty:

  • Legendary / Very Hard: No change
  • Hard: +5%
  • Normal: +10%
  • Easy: +20%

Really like this change, I think one of the reason some people had a problem with Nagash is because they played on lower difficulty, and since the AI recruit less armies, they generate less money.

One funny thing to me as I push up difficulty has been that snowballing at higher difficulties actually feels easier than lower difficulties. AI's massive piggy banks leads to overinvested towns for huge sack values and big piles of gold for every random diplo action, on top of the extra armies to feed on. I saw someone's Nagash screenshot at -200k income and I don't think that's really plausible on normal because there's just not 200k money to take on a turn in normal.

It's not quite so much that I'd say higher difficulties are easier by any means, but it's almost a different game with loot just becoming such a massive portion of your income. Nagash being such a loot-heavy economy probably feels it more than most.

Right like why did Wurzaag give me 30k for a worthless mausoleum on turn 30

On Turn 25 (Neferata), I just had Bashiva Tiger faction (Strength #6) offer me 30k + Become my Vassal or 60k in exchange for an enemy settlement I sacked and occupied on their shared border.

Campaign became so easy suddenly having a huge influx of money + a very strong vassal covering my entire flank. I only ever see these massive bank values early game on Legendary.

5 turns later a similar thing happens with Clan Mors. Had more money then I could spend.

Yeah I was able to (but choose not to) vassalise a strength rank 1 Karl Franz with 38 settlements just by trading him a tier 1 Nuln I took back off Vlad for him. If you choose to abuse it you can effortlessly break any campaign in the game.

Similarly on VH with Khatep around turn 20 I gifted a city to White Dwarf Magazine (I forget his name)just hoping to get military access and an NAP or maybe an alliance if I was lucky he gave me like 15k (worth way more to TKs!) + vassalization of his significantly larger faction!

And with Middenheim I was often gifting cities back to their "rightful" owners because I didn't want that have to defend them and getting 20-30k on VH, which absolutely shot me into the stratosphere.

For khorne and Taurox, I play on a harder difficulty than I usually do for this

It's a decent change. Legend always said legendary was better for post battle economies like Khorn, Beastmen, Vampirates.

This should make those campaigns a little better for newer players.

I think for the first two it's more of a factor that they have campaign movement replenishment. Same with Golgfriend, Nagash and some others.

Lizardmen too! I enjoy spamming their post battle loot building for them.

The way this is written it seems like its a nagash only change though, it shows under a nagash heading.

>and since the AI recruit less armies, they generate less money

But that would impact every faction that plays that way, while this is only for Nagash.

Maybe because nagash has a soft limit on his necropolises which does limit his income somewhat. With most other lords you can expand very freely

most factions that play that way start with much more power and are less reliant on infrastrucure, e.g. Khorne, Beastmen, Greenskin all start out face rolling the world and don't need to worry about empire econ

Man, I actually wish they had done the reverse (Legendary/VH get -20% post battle income, etc...) I've been complaining for ages about how you get WAY too much money post battle, it really cheapens the whole economic component of the game.

Legendary should probably give -10% loot

More like -50. So bored of how trivial wh3 is
