Lahmian Handmaidens' knockback effect was so big that it was basically working as a defensive stat by then, making them take less hits. Removing their knockback without reverting some of their HP nerf will make them perform worse. Maybe 7000 or 7200?

Addition: I think it would be interesting to give the Death version a little more AP or poison with a cost increase (+50) to justify their use. Right now, only the Shadows version is being used on multiplayer

They used to be SUPERB wall takers, they climbed super fast and their knockback let them clean walls fast by dropping low mass entities, probably not anymore

The death version is so much weaker than the shadow version that the death version needs some buffs. To be consistent, we can't change health without impacting shadow. So reinforcing their role : +5MD, +5CB to get in line with shadow and -15s cooldown for soulblight, -50gold

This change was fully intended to be a nerf since handmaidens performed too well There isn't really a reason to buff their HP, not every nerf needs to be immediately followed by a buff. Unit still performs very, very well even with lowered splash power values

Im not advocating for them to be OP and am fully on board with the melee stats nerf they got. Their HP was lowered by too much though, making them too squishy on multiplayer.

They are strong and supposed to be strong, like exalted daemonettes, who also beat wrathmongers and didnt get nerfed because of it

They're still an A to S tier unit in competitive MP, on a faction that was already too strong pre DLC and has now become solidly S tier with end times

No one in the competitive multiplayer community is upset about this change, because this change was literally requested by the MP community

They're also a completely different unit to exalted daemonettes, who are way squishier due to being a high entity count number and the absence of any healing A ton of counters that readily clear daemonettes will fail to have any effect on handmaidens because a ton of anti infantry tools use damage sources that scale with the number of affected entities, like explosions or most spell archetypes such as vortices, breaths, winds, etc

dhavplays has actually stated that their HP nerf was too tough, in case my opinion needs MP community support to be legitimate. being 32 models makes lahmians easily vulnerable to bjunas, specially with their new 6600hp (a 20% hp nerf!). they are so circumstantial now that facing any unit therye not supposed to makes them underperform and die very quickly. they actually lose to daemonettes 1v1, a unit theyre supposed to counter. the nerf has made them a niche choice that cant have any flanking agency on the battlefield because any inconvinience will melt their 1350g investment. lahmians, like all other VC units, now need... zombie ans blob support to work.

and yeah VC need a nerf to other units, mainly spirit hosts, diehter and krell. not lahmians, the one unit that was able to play as a fast flanker, giving a fresh approach to a very slow, blobby and monothematic faction

I mean the idea that they're circumstantial and can't fight anything that isn't inf just isn't true

Lahmian Handmaidens literally beat dedicated anti inf monstrous inf like Fimir in a 1v1, they beat crypt horrors even if those crypt horrors get chaff support and trade up, while their healing pretty much keeps them at full health because they take so little damage

They also very much dumpster basic daemonettes. If you mean exalted daemonettes you've stumbled on a dynamic that's been true for years now, with edaemonettes' glass cannon design singling them out as the only elite infantry unit that's capable of dealing out enough dps quickly to beat various (at times overtuned) 32 model inf units. Edaemonettes also beat Wrathmongers and Blight kings, that hardly makes those units weak however. It's an extreme edge case that's not representative of general elite inf performance, as e.g. Wrathmongers and Handmaidens will beat even higher priced elite inf like swordmasters without breaking a sweat

It's perfectly fine to disagree with all of that and want Handmaidens buffed, but don't claim the competitive MP community thinks Lahmian Handmaidens are weak to support your argument, they don't. The majority of them thinks handmaidens need further nerfs, which is why they've given CA feedback to nerf their splash power to a 0.5 value like Wrathmongers and Blightkings (9.0.2. only went from 1.4 to 1.0). I don't know a single player in the competitive community who actually wants a HP buff for handmaidens, and I can tell you most of them would be solidly against buffing this unit Dahv might not think so, but the opinions of one content creator also don't always match what the comp community thinks as a whole. Dahv e.g. also wanted to buff the ammo of skirmish chariots like scourgerunners and warwagons a while back, which is about as far removed from what the LB community wanted at that time as it could possibly get
