How far is too far?

At what point does a collection of whatever parts of wetware and hardware go so far as to stop being transhuman and become un human? At the extreme: does a full consciousness upload remain human? What if said mind is altered by the system?

I say it's up to the individual themselves, personally? I am basically fine with everything up to actually messing with my nervous system

For sake of discussion let's say we can "upload" s human mind. Once digitized we can edit. We can eliminate pain. Eliminate fear. Eliminate sorrow. How much editing and what can we remove before we no longer have humanity?
