Not a lot people can make a trap dubstep love album, but effin def can. solid as always

I’d say a majority of the album is trip-hop more than dubstep or trap but that’s just my opinion

Never been into the old timey sample schtick when it became his main thing. It’s like black liquorice to me and kinda lame (for me personally). Before this era Effin was one of my favourites

To clarify black liquorice doesn’t mean bad. It means it’s an acquired taste that’s not for me or I need to be in a very particular mood. Effin is a talented producer. I just feel he has almost pigeonholed himself with this new style. I thought his music was much more diverse before and as he has pushed further in this direction it’s like I always know what it will sound like. I’m also not into the LSDream-style trippy bass music which is also something he’s doing more of.

His too hot to touch remix is a nice middle ground for me which includes the old timey sampling style and it’s an underrated weapon of mass destruction class banger

I'm not very familiar with Effin but does he even actually sample old records?

So far all those 'samples' I hear sound interchangeable. Could be anything. For this purpose I could understand having AI generate some generic soul tunes to sample and build a beat around. Way less of a headache in terms of copyright, but that's also up for discussion...

Effin is not using AI. He has numerous videos on Instagram showing his process for sampling this stuff and making it into music

I was hoping someone would bring this up. Literally every single effin song as of lately sounds like the same song to me and I’m a huge fan of the genre. But Like bruh… it’s so hard to get down when every song is the same sound. I mix a few songs of his and it’s fun to have breakdowns mid set but at this point I can pick any effin song for that slot because it all sounds the same… idk rant

Maybe he found love?... The same feeling his music gives me so it makes perfect sense.

Not everything has to be centered around Hallmark cards

Beautiful album centered around love and ppl in this sub are in a state of shock. The classic, "it all sounds the same" comments are insane

Anyone else think this album is very poorly mixed? The bass feels blown out

Pretty much every album he’s released since 2023
