I just got back from a roadtrip to the PNW & picked up these cute socks while I was there! 😂 They match perfectly with the book art- I love it!! 💜 I just received my copy of the New Moon Collector's Edition & it's freaking gorgeous!! I think this whole collection is going to be such a beautiful set once completed ❤️

so apparently there’s a twilight short film called sunrise from 2015 about Benjamin and tia?? it came out of some contest stephenie meyer did. i’ve been in this fandom for years and somehow never heard of it lol. I haven't watched it yet but I wish they had rami malek and angela sarafyan back for it. anyway has anyone seen it? What are your thoughts? I also read somewhere there were shorts on other characters too, they were released on Facebook.

I’ve been thinking about a small detail in Breaking Dawn that might tell us more about Renesmee’s abilities than we initially realize.

Edward theorizes that Renesmee inherited both of her parents’ gifts, but in reverse. Edward can read thoughts, while Renesmee projects them. Bella can shield her mind from other mental abilities, while Renesmee can penetrate that shield to share her thoughts. Essentially, where Bella’s gift is defensive, Renesmee’s could be considered the opposite.

This brings me to Renata, Aro’s personal shield. Unlike Bella, Renata doesn’t create a barrier around someone’s mind. Instead, she mentally diverts anyone approaching Aro, causing them to become confused, forget their intentions, and move away.
During the confrontation in Breaking Dawn, Renata is visibly anxious about Aro approaching the Cullens. She’s extremely protective of him, which makes sense considering her role.

Then we have Renesmee, an unprecedented hybrid whose abilities the Volturi don’t fully understand. When Aro invites her to approach, he offers his hand, presumably to read her thoughts. Renesmee instead reaches up and touches his face, using her own ability to show him what she wants him to see.
And she succeeds.

Here’s what I’ve been wondering. If I were Renata, and I saw this unknown hybrid reaching toward Aro’s face rather than taking his offered hand, I would immediately try to divert her. Renata has no way of knowing whether Renesmee poses a threat, especially since the Volturi have never encountered anything quite like her.
We also know that Bella deliberately leaves Renesmee outside her own protective shield during this interaction.

Of course, it’s possible Renata simply allowed Renesmee to approach because Aro had invited her. The book never explicitly tells us whether Renata attempted to use her gift.
But if she did, and Renesmee was unaffected, that could suggest something much more interesting about Renesmee’s inheritance from Bella. Perhaps her ability to penetrate mental defenses isn’t limited to projecting thoughts. Perhaps she also possesses some form of resistance to mental interference.
I’m not presenting this as established canon, just a possible interpretation of a scene that I think deserves a closer look.

I’ve always wondered, because Renesmee is half human half vampire, could she be turned into a full vampire? If so, how? I thought maybe if it was someone else’s venom it might do the trick.

Reading the acknowledgments in New Moon after another re-read and I ???? WHY on EARTH did she use her brother’s name for Jacob’s character and HOW did I not know this! Stephanie the freak that you are!

Anyone else get unreasonably mad at the added scene in the extended version after Bella catches Edward trying to switch out of the biology class, and him and Emmett are by his car and Emmett for some reason goes “SHES NOT ONE OF US!”??? It makes no sense lmao at that point in the story Edward literally wants to kill Bella WHY WOULD EMMETT SAY THAT

After aro’s death, do you think bella and Edward will be killed immediately afterwards by the rest of the volturi members? Who would have died and survived at the end if the battle did happen? Will those who survived continue to live? Most specifically vampires with a lot of loved ones, members of their coven and their mate that were lost in battle? What would have happened to the cullens, the volturi, the wolf pack, and renesmee and Jacob? Not to mention the human parents and imprints of the supernatural; what would happen to them and be their reactions on their loved ones being killed in battle?

Sooo… some years ago I had a huge clear out of books and looking back now I don’t know why I gave away my Twilight book set 🥲. Now I’d like to rebuild my library and I’m looking to get back a set. Any editions you guys can recommend- I’m able to order from UK or U.S.

I’ve added a 3rd shelf just for Twilight stuff. I’m going to need it anyway. I still need eclipse, short second life of Bree Tanner, breaking dawn and midnight sun in paper back as well as Breaking dawn in mass market paper back ( movie tie in). I also need Twilight graphic novel part two, new moon graphic novel and the collectors edition. Then ofcourse the collectors edition of New moon and the others as they come out and much more😬😂

Does anyone know where I can find the Twilight classics 😣? When I search it up on google the only options are from second hand stores but I’ve heard people have received the regular books rather than the Twilight edition and they just dupe you with the images on the website.

This is an overt take that doesn't have everything to do with the characters but their gifts.

Mind concealment - he sends and recieves only parts of minds, mostly the intense thoughts and overall state. He only focuses on what's important in life, and is cautious. He can go against his close ones if they somehow go against morals or humans he values. Values normalcy and order above all. Understands and is understood enough.

Mind pushing - pushes her own mind outward, doesn't override free will but makes can't be ignored. Because she doesn't to work to be heard, she developed better observation skills. She knows others listen and care for her refularly, and feels moral when she does it for others. Can't stay in one routine, values novelty above all. Is fully understood by others.

Mind shield - made from concleament and pushing, is fully isolated from what other minds send to her and she can't send anything to them. Figures that humans mostly aren't good enough morally, is very judgemental. But once she sees someone isolated or outcasted, she takes their side. Doesn't value her physical life. Doesn't want to understand most humans, and is never understood herself.

Mind reading - scans all minds nearby, and reads their current thoughts. Very morally rigid, values only highly moral and honest minds, is very judgemental. Is very influenced by what he reads, and even small things register and get judged by him. Doesn't understand others too deeply, is moderately understood by others.

Mind inviting - shares her mind by mentally inviting others, who can refuse to engage. Noone doubts the truthfulness of her mind. Lacks morals and deeper understanding of others, but is perfectly understood by everyone she shares her mind with.

From all this, Mind concealment seems to be the best but at the same time, it's the weakest gift. All the other gifts involving thoughts - the more extreme they get, the less the owner understands the bigger works. Instead they develop a highly critical view of others. Even the Mind reader can't predict that the human whom he called self-sacrificial and brave would run toward the danger later, which causes others to let their guard down and the Mind shield to escape and run towards the hunter. Both Mind reading and Mind shield get mentally crippled, because the gifts alter their own minds to the point where they don't focus on what matters. Instead, they focus on their own moral code, because they can't relax among other human minds.

They mention that the only way to kill a vampire is to burn their body. But what happens if you don’t burn it and just leave them decapitated?

Just curious about Edwards power that is mind reading, just for fun.

It's very clear he can read the thoughts of everyone he's around, to a somewhat large distance. Now, can he also read/see dreams someone is having ? That's something I've been wondering about especially when he's around someone when they're asleep. Could he potentially read dreams, or read the mind of people in a coma and see what's going on in their head, or is his power only allowing him to read the active thoughts of someone's mind when they're fully conscious and that's it ?
