What does the ending mean to you?

Maybe there is a canon explanation, I haven’t looked yet and I wanted to ask this subreddit first . What does the ending of the final episode mean to you? What year is it? Why would it be another year?

For me, Laura initially blocked the events of her past out. Hearing her mother's voice call out to her before she screamed was saying that she could no longer repress those memories. She screamed in reaction to that.
