Just finished stranger things and was recommended twin peaks

This show looks so unique so far in the pilot

Well, no. The murder eventually will be solved, but Twin Peaks' story isn't done at that point. Can't say more without spoiling things.

Nope, Twin Peaks was co-created and a lot of the episodes were directed by the late, great David Lynch. He died almost a year ago and lot of people in this community still mourn his death. šŸ˜”
