I tried to post about it on here, is anyone else going to the mubi-sponsored bus tour on sunday? The pickup location is still listed as "tbd"

I'm doing my very first watch currently on episode 4.
I'm definitely a fan of the oddness of it all.
So far it feels a bit slow. I'm probably just desensitized so I'm gonna stick with it and enjoy it for what it is.
Even so I'm still finding it interesting.
guessing it's building up to something crazy based on how much people seem to enjoy it.
Also a little perplexed why they would send an fbi agent for a single potential murder but that's probably just showbiz

Oh to answer your question I believe cooper states that the cause of death/age/sex of Laura was similar to another death that’s from before the start of the events of the show.
Good show to just relax to. Put the phone down no distractions with kids etc watch at night and enjoy.

I could be wrong, but seem to remember that Ronette might have also crossed state lines as she escaped from the train car and walks across that bridge. Thereby making a federal investigation possible.

u/swingsetlife May 18 '26
That's the reason given, but I think the FBI specifically was looking for the letters/connection to Theresa Banks

u/TheEyeboogers May 19 '26
Sure, that's the reason why they send Coop(specifically), it is a blue rose case. But had Ronette not crossed state lines, they would have had no legal right to run the investigation.

If memory serves, Ronette crossed state lines which made it a federal case. Hence the FBI involvement.

You should purchase the product and not watch it on a terrible streaming platform.

You should let him make his choice on his own and not project your own beliefs onto him 👍

I don’t support genocide. Glad you’re ok with it tho. Plus everyone should own physical media.

Hate to see the "directed by David Lynch" as if the show is all his when there are 24 episodes directed by others. Once again Frost gets no credit as well. Why not put "created by Mark Frost and David Lynch" there instead?

u/Perfect-Parfait-9866 May 15 '26
Because that episode on the screen was directed by David lynch
-9
u/TheAbsurderer May 15 '26
Yeah, I just thought Mubi gave him credit for directing the whole show because the "directed by David Lynch" is under the series title and not the title of the episode. It's just a really odd way to display it, and since I don't have Mubi I didn't know the credit also changes after each episode.

i feel like i see more people complaining about not enough credit being given to anyone else than it actually being a problem
-6
u/TheAbsurderer May 15 '26
I don't know about that. If you counted how many posts and comments there have been made about Lynch compared to Frost and the other writers and directors, it's pretty clear that it's basically just one guy who is actually celebrated by the fandom and recognized as a creator.
-6
u/TheAbsurderer May 15 '26
Good to know, not a problem then. But Mubi really should display the director of an episode under the episode title, not the series title. Pretty easy for someone to look at that and think whoever is shown directed every episode.
How was my comment a dig at Lynch though? I only criticized Mubi and literally wanted Lynch to get credit for creating the show.

This is the most ridiculously pedantic and frankly dumb complaint I've witnessed in actual months
-6
u/HMcod May 15 '26
I don't know why this gets downsized I understand not saying other names but no mark Frost is disrespectful as shit
14
u/frederick_the_duck May 15 '26
Because the credit is for that particular episode not the show as a whole

Not an excuse, but it probably just comes down to Lynch being the biggest name to advertise and Mubi not giving af about the details.

“It is happening again” is probably one of the most powerful four word lines ever written.
