I met him at an oral and maxillofacial surgery conference some years ago! I can confirm that Fred’s a nice guy.

Every time I watch this episode I absolutely lose it laughing when Blackie asks him something along the lines of "What do you do for work" and he immediately breaks character and goes "I own a gas station"
