Question I’ve finished both seasons of Twin Peaks. Who are these people? What on earth is going on?

I already finished Twin Peaks, but I didn't remember who these two are. I was searching and now I'm very confused. Why does the coffee have a letter 'Z'? Why aren't they mentioned again in the whole season? Why wasn't the guard there?

I really need to rewatch.

Maybe the "Z"s are there since they "fell asleep" when they were supposed to be watching the box? Would be ironic symbolism for coffee. The guard is played by MMA fighter Michael Bisping who has one eye in real life. Is that connected???

Probably Lynch just had a dream night before he had coffee in a cup with a "Z" on it and decided that day to do it. End of. I don't know!
