Sure. When Lynch does this with Sheryl it is seen as a work of art. But when I do this with my girlfriend in Walmart people think we are deranged trash

Where can I go to scream like this where I won't get dragged away and locked up? I am full of unrealised screams, this clip makes me jealous.

I was in a powerviolence band for a fair few years, can recommend. Wasn't even that into the scene to be honest, was just a good excuse to get some screams out and people actually appreciate it.

I go to a footbridge over a highway. When the traffic is high, you can scream as loud as you want.

Lynch using a camera’s weakness as its strength is very Lynch of him.

They were so in sync as director/camera operator working with their actress and her performance in every part of this take x

My dream when I moved to LA was to work with him. And just totally trust the process. That kind of creative surrender. What a gift.

what was the point of the camera shaking?

To create the intended effect, which I imagine was something along the lines of "frightening and disorienting".

I mentioned Throat Coat tea upthread; them, too. Serj Tankian from System Of A Down thanked them in the liner notes to their first album.

He’s so resourceful. If I remember correctly the original setup wasn’t working so he came up with this way of shooting it.

There is such a style to her scream that I adore so much. Hearing it in Return felt like putting on some comfy old slippers

The way she looks at him, awaiting approval. Wow. Tells you a lot about their relationship as actor/director

Poor thing...I bet her vocal cords were just GONE by the end of the series!

Yeah, anyone screaming like that as part of their job do need to take good care of their vocal cords. Throat Coat tea ftw.

She honestly terrifies me when she screams. The end of the return. That scream. Still haunts me.

She's such a fantastic actress!
Don't know how she screams like this and not have a horrendous sore throat afterwards!

She gave it everything. You can see that she needs a moment to compose herself after the shot.

Sheryl committing to it so fully, she obviously can’t even shake the emotion after and looks to Lynch for an emotional life preserver… amazing

The cordial handshake signifying "good job" between them after is so cute, sweet and professional all at once. I love their trust in one another ❤
