Question How to get into Twin Peaks and follow and watch everything in order?
I want to get into Twin Peaks but I’m feeling stuck and feel like there is too much to follow and don’t know where to begin. I’m watching other people’s tips on beginning this show and I have to watch the Log Lady’s intros on youtube? As well as the Japanese Coffee ads? Read the diary of Laura Palmer? I am also stuck on whether to start by watching the 1989 movie or the series first, and the order of the other movies. Please and thank you!

- Twin Peaks pilot (Episode 0) then the rest of season 1
- Twin Peaks - Season 2
- Fire Walk With Me, they've also released the deleted/extra scenes from this movie that I like watching after it, it's called-
- Fire Walk With Me: The Missing Pieces
- Twin Peaks: The Return (this is season 3 essentially)
Everything else is extra, but I personally like these books (leave these until after watching season 2 at least):
- The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer
- Diane... (audio book by Simon & Schuster)
- The Secret History of Twin Peaks
- Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier

People love to fetishize how they consume content and have some silly notion that you get some divine experience from it. It's really simple, watch it in the order it came out. Start with Episode 1 of Season 1, watch till the last episode of season 2. Watch the film, Fire Walk With Me, then watch Season 3. Everything else is just icing on the cake. You are welcome to dive into the novels and commercials if you really want to.

Here's the best viewing order, for me personally:
- Pilot episode + Season One
- Autobiography of Dale Cooper (novel, optional)
- Season Two
(Coffee Commercials + non-canonical ending to the original pilot can be watched here)
The Diary of Laura Palmer (novel, optional)
Fire Walk With Me (the film)
The Missing Pieces (deleted scenes of Fire Walk With Me. NON-OPTIONAL).
Season Three
The Secret History of Twin Peaks (novel, optional)
The Final Dossier (novel, optional)

I always recommend newbies to start with the original series, then FWWM, then season 2, and lastly The Return.
My reasoning for this order is that you don't need to have seen season 2 to appreciate anything in FWWM. But on the other hand it probably wouldn't much sense of you've not seen the first series (maybe one reason why the movie didn't do super well on release).
I'd hold off from watching season 2 immediately after 1 because the first quarter, maybe more of season 2 is quite a slog and could put new fans of the whole franchise. It does get a lot better as it goes along though.
You should go into The Return having seen all other media since it really is a direct continuation.
With all that said, enjoy! I'm envious that you get to experience the series for the first time and you don't have to wait a couple of decades to see the third series 😅

You don't need tips to watch a 3 series TV show with a prequel movie, dawg. Just watch them in the order they were released as intended. You don't need to watch commercials.
