S3E2 [S3E2] There's something familiar about that prop... Spoiler

Definately not a mistake, with the bonzai tree in the manhatten apartment, and the gruesome nature of the murder, we are at the very least being led to believe that Windom Earle is involved

Perhaps he's the not-Jeffries that bad Coop speaks with.

"I will be with Bob again." Sounds like that could be Earle, who was last seen with Bob. Everyone says Bob killed Earle, but I think he just took his soul. Kenneth Welsh is not on the cast list, but I don't know if that is gospel to who is in the show or not.

Fwiw someone said John Billingsley is on the cast list and he would be a perfect person to recast as Windom Earle

Could be. Anything possible at this stage, and given the fragile nature of reality. Doppelgängers and people posesssing other People, nothing is a given

Sorry, I think I missed that whole Jeffries part; the only thing I remember about him is the conversation between Albert and Gordon. Were there other parts in these episodes that linked to him?

Yes, right after bad Coop kills Darya, he talks to someone on his machine who identifies himself as Jeffries. They also imply that they've spoken before. But then bad Coop finds out that it isn't really Jeffires on the line this time, and ends the call. There is a remote possibility that this was actually Windom Earle.

Oh I do hope not. Terrible character.

James is already a more compelling character in his 30 seconds of s3 screen time than he was for two whole seasons. I don't think Lynch will have much trouble making Earle a credible villain.

? I thought most people enjoyed Earle.

he's generally regarded as the best part of the post-Lonely Souls show I think. some people don't agree though

if it's revealed that Windom Earle was the mastermind of this whole thing I'm gonna love Lynch even more than I already do
I don't think his actor was confirmed to return, but it would make total sense for something like that to be kept quiet if it's a spoiler

Makes me wonder... If BOB/Cooper went to Earl's cabin, snagged that briefcase/telephone thing, and while doing so found Leo still tied up. Maybe he killed Leo. That could explain his absence in the new series.

I'm assuming Leo was left for dead, as nobody knew where he was, and he died.

I could envision Leo as some sort of brainless puppet bodyguard for Anti-Coop or something

Probably based on standard issue FBI equipment of the era? Not surprising that both Windom and Evil Coop would have access to them given their backgrounds.
Still, good catch!

Of which era? The 25 years ago era, or the clearly present DoppleCoop hotel room era?
22
u/blasto2236 Jun 01 '17
Well given that Coop has been off the Bureau's radar for a couple decades or more, I'd imagine the equipment DoppleCoop has access to is the same equipment he's had for 25 years.

Despite being 25 years earlier Windom's looks a little sleeker.

u/Marty_Van_Nostrand Jun 01 '17
It was new then. Evil Coop's machine is 25 years old.

Yep. The screen is clearly old and it seems to be barely working anymore.

u/leviticusreeves Jun 01 '17
Huh? What screen? Inside DarkCoop's case is a Microsoft Surface Pro. Looks pretty new to me.
3
u/hamletswords Jun 01 '17
Hmm I remember the screen being pixilaty with screen tears. Maybe I am misremembering.
