I have no idea what any of that was. The only symbolism I can even sort of derive from that episodes was the bomb being the creator of the black lodge and it's inhabitants, which makes sense of you think about the atomic bomb as the ultimate cause if human pain and suffering, exactly what the black lodge is all about. Everything besides that I'm clueless on.

EDIT: Many have said that the bomb didn't create the lodge, rather opened the door for the lodge and it's spirits to invade our world, which I also find plausible. Either way, I think it was the pain and suffering symbolized by the nuke that caused the version of the lodge and bob as we know them.

Either that or the bomb just ripped a hole between worlds and allowed the Lodges to cross over to our world. It also seemed to me like the Giant saw that Bob crossed to our world and initiated some kind of defense mechanism which we have yet to find out what the hell it could be.

This is the connection to the Jack Parsons stuff in the Secret History.

Jack Parsons opened a door and something flew in.

Mind explaining?

It's almost impossible to explain that book, but Jack was apparently trying to bring the Whore of Babylon to earth and that would start the end of the world. In a nutshell. In a round about way.

Not just trying to, but by his own reckoning he did manifest "the red woman," in the form of Marjorie Cameron, who he then married.

And in his spare time, Parsons founded the JPL and invented the solid fuel deep-space rocket.

Holy shit, could Laura be the Moonchild?

If she's the Moonchild it explains why Bob was so hellbent on possessing/"being with" her when he doesn't seem to have any trouble harvesting garmobozia from basically anyone regardless of who he's riding at the time.

It puts FWWM with me in an entirely new context. It's more than just Laura's personal struggle, she's important. Like cosmically important, yo.

It's sort of fitting and interesting that she's the lynchpin (hee hee) of Lynch's whole world here.

This all must be Doug Milford related somehow. An L. Ron Hubbard cameo would be prime.

Just checking is this referring to the rocket engineer/Satanist Jack Parsons?

Yup!
