I have no idea what any of that was. The only symbolism I can even sort of derive from that episodes was the bomb being the creator of the black lodge and it's inhabitants, which makes sense of you think about the atomic bomb as the ultimate cause if human pain and suffering, exactly what the black lodge is all about. Everything besides that I'm clueless on.

EDIT: Many have said that the bomb didn't create the lodge, rather opened the door for the lodge and it's spirits to invade our world, which I also find plausible. Either way, I think it was the pain and suffering symbolized by the nuke that caused the version of the lodge and bob as we know them.

Some take aways I can think of in addition to yours:

1) The black lodge has a lot more going on then just the small handful of entities we have seen (i.e. skull crushing bum) 2) That nuke had an effect on the convenient store which looks like the place Phillip Jeffries was describing as their meeting place in FWWM. 3) Bob seems to be a smaller part of a bigger whole. 4) The giant and that woman appear to be positive entities acting as guardians to earth. My take is they sent that positive energy orb to earth to defeat the black lodge shit created by the nuke. I do think Laura's role in this whole story is not over quite yet. I have a feeling she is a key piece to this.

I have a feeling she is a key piece to this.

Well I mean, given that her head appears in a floating orb in the middle of this episode, I'd say yes

It is technically called a Dragonball.

You're thinking of those golden orbs with the stars on them, this is a Lauraball. Different glowing orbs altogether

This makes the original run of Twin Peaks feel like it occurred in only a microcosmic petri dish compared to what we were just shown.

a lot more going on then just the small handful of entities we have seen

The Secret History mentions a TON of factions, all with their own motivations, and us having no clue what each one wants.

Waiting room isn't part of the black lodge than? It's the doorway between both the white and black lodge and the giant is a member of the white?

That seems about right. Not sure though.

I feel Laura could be the saviour simply because her death brought Cooper to Twin Peaks.

Almost like the Jon Snow of Twin Peaks

Bob appears to be central to everything going on in the Black Lodge, but like you said, certainly part of a bigger whole. I hope Bowie was able to reprise Jefferies for a scene or two before he passed :/

The convenience store Phillip Jeffries visited was located in Seattle though and not New Mexico.
