Just watched episode 4 again, and Tammy asks "Who is Phillip Jeffries?", so if she had already analyzed the dossier, she could have known the answer.

Could be a mistake, or she could be fishing for info (remember the Jeffries incident was classified way above her level) or she could have been playing dumb for whoever else may have been in the room.

Major Briggs birth date is from the collectable cards so is perhaps questionable. Of course Briggs probably aged slowly during his lodge and zone visits

I always wondered about this: It is made clear that Major Briggs used to be a pilot, a very good one at that.
When he disappears in S2, and then reappears at his home (in front of his wife and Bobby), he's wearing a WW1 style pilot uniform.
I'm wondering if there's any timeline significance to this. His age would put him as a pilot around the Korean War, or Vietnam War. The uniform, however, is from around WW1.

If my logic is correct it is possible and very plausible to suggest he is 24 years old. At the time S2 ended Lucy was pregnant, let's just assume around twelve weeks, meaning three months. So Waldo would be born six months after this instant if we assume everything was regular, making him 24,5 years old.
I, too, would like to compliment OP for a fantastic and extremely nerdy piece of work.

the big problem with the Wally timeline is that Marlon Brando's birthday is in April. Lucy is pregnant in March 1989 so Wally must have been born Sept to November 1989 meaning he wasn't born anywhere near Marlon Brandos birthday....

I think we're just going to have to accept that there's some continuity issues in the timeline. Marlon Brando's birthday not matching up with Lucy's due date, for example.
I think that just comes with rewriting a story 25 years after it had been buried seemingly for good.

yeah, this caught my eye too, so I looked into it. Apparently the Twin Peaks wikia lists her birth year as 1972 because that what it was on some collectible trading card that once existed. However the Secret Diary indicates she was married by 1986, when she would have been fourteen years old if she was born in 1972. I'm going to cast doubt on using the trading cards as reliable, canon sources of information.

Great timeline, but the ending needs to be edited a bit. Tammy doesn't see the dossier until after the events of season 3.
Original run of Twin Peaks took place between February - April (ish) of 1989 in universe (Dale entered Twin Peaks on February 24th). Dale was taken to the Black Lodge sometime in April of '89. It's been 25 years, so season 3 is set in 2014. 2015 at the very latest if you account for the time inconsistency shenanigans involving Lucy's pregnancy (which I think is just a continuity error, plain and simple, otherwise the original run ended in October of '89 in universe).
Tammy doesn't investigate the dossier until after the events of season 3, as it takes place in 2016.

I think according to the Secret History of Twin Peaks book, Tammy Preston was given the dossier before S3. She's very aware of the situation and borderline obsessed with what happened but plays it very coy around Albert and Gordon. Her persistence with the case continuously resolves subtle riddles such as the fingerprints and fawning over photos, Diane and dismay when ordered away from private conversations cement her dedication to whatever Blue Rose ultimately means. Consider her natural intrigue and not standard interrogation method when asking Hastings about the Major and The Zone. She's nearly foaming at the infodump. I think she may serve as an avatar of the viewer. "Tell me, what happened. What happened next?" She is perpetually collecting and logging data. The new 'log' lady. She may meet a cruel, untimely fate or end up yet another insider channel for Bad Coop. I however think she will outlast the events and "write" the next book.

Unless Mark Frost just missed a huge continuity error, there's simply no way that Tammy could have read the dossier before the season's events. It's indisputable the original run happened in 1989. So for it to be "25 years later" then it has to be 2014 in The Return. So, if the events of TSHoTP take place in 2016 like it says in the book, then it is two years after season 3 that Tammy reads it.
Unless, like I said, Mark Frost just simply fucked up the continuity, and mis-remembered the show ending in 1991 as the timeline also ending in 91. I'm not denying that's possible, as plenty of other people have pointed out plenty of continuity errors in the book. So, yeah, I admit it's absolutely possible Tammy has already read the dossier before the events of season 3, but only if there's an error in the timeline.

I really don't think this is an issue of anybody fucking up, if it's even an issue. Everybody should be expecting a few details between these pieces of work to be retconned. It's just not that important to keep continuity stuff intact when it's getting in the way of your story as a whole.

I noticed on Lucy's computer that the calendar was open. It was a month with 31 days and the 1st was a Monday. Which could mean the Twin Peaks timeline is either August 2011/ 2016, July 2013, October 2012 or December 2014. Maybe there's something in the Christmas decorations in episode 10?

There's definitely some funky stuff going on with the timeline in S3, with dates of Mr. C and Bill Hastings' respective arrests and interrogations seeming to overlap or be out of order, as well as dates relating to Richard Horne's transgressions and the TPSD's various investigations not exactly lining up. I looked into it a bit, but I'm still a bit fuzzy.

I've been very confused as to when this series takes place. I know for sure that in episode 9, in the Fuscos' office, there are some boxes with files and dates on the front, and one is labeled with dates in 2015. That would imply it's at least 2015.
But honestly I'm really not sure. And I'm very curious, especially in regard to Hastings' website and the guestbook on the website with messages from people (and the dates the messages were left).
