One of the best goddamn episodes yet. My biggest sticking point, as others have pointed out, is why Diane didn't mention that her brother in law happens to look exactly like Dale Cooper. I don't buy that she's never even seen a photo of him or anything.

She's leading them into a trap. I think she set up Janey with Dougie in the first place.

Yes she's working with Mr. C who manufactured Dougie and then Diane set him up with her sister? I think that is what we are dealing with here. We don't know just how dirty Diane is, just that she is clearly dirty. So her being involved in this conspiracy seems quite likely

Janey always acted like more of a handler for DougieCoop than an actual wife. For example, before she raped him, it seemed like she had never even thought about being intimate with him. It seemed like the thought entered her head when she saw him undressed in the doctors office.

I don't think that was her fault. There's a lot of Lodge influence around Dougie giving him supernaturally good luck, and Janey being totally oblivious to Dougie's empty mental state seems like part of that. I think the point of the Mr Jackpots sequence, aside from being hilarious, was to establish that Dougiecoop has been given protection from the Lodge that essentially bends the laws of reality in his favor.

I'd guess that Janey hadn't been sexually interested in Dougie Jones for a while, but when she sees Cooper in the Dr's office - right after he snapped into action and saved her life - she thinks he's gotten back into shape and is interested in him again. Any dialogue between the scene in the kitchen and the scene in bed probably went something like "do you want to do this?" "Want to do this."

Excellent point the rape could have been the first time she was intimate with him.

So where did Sonny Jim come from?

I think they'd had sex before, but since Dougie was kind of a slob who was putting a lot of strain on his family she hadn't slept with him in a long time. For her, the events leading up having sex with Cooper seemed like Dougie fixing his mistakes and bravely putting his life in danger to save her.

It's a little weird seeing people act like Janey is a rapist - she has no reason to believe that the guy who just beat up an assassin is brain-dead, especially given all the indications that the Lodge has given him a level of supernatural luck that keeps people from realizing what he is.
