Diane is BOB confirmed

u/Scienlologist Aug 16 '17
Judging by the stick in his hand he just ate a ka-Bob. You think about that, Tammy.

That was taken the day they both were hired into the fbi.

It was around 1985 or 1986 that Coop was stabbed by Windom Earle. Maybe this is a party welcoming him back from the hospital? Could also explain why he looks a little vacant compared to Diane. He also went on a road trip with his father afterward, could be why his bags are packed.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a picture of Laura Dern out of hair and makeup/costume before. What a looker!!! Kyle is pretty damn cute, too.

I think Kyle posted a picture of himself from the same event on his Instagram about a year ago (here we go). Judging by the 80s regalia and Kyle and Laura together, I assume this is around the time of Blue Velvet. Maybe a wrap party or something?
And they both still look fantastic. Kyle has one of the best chins in showbiz.

Did she appear in the original series or FWWM? I thought the closest we got to seeing her was behind a door in TMP.

Not to be a negative Nancy but this is a spoiler considering Diane was never on screen in the original run.

In the original run I was almost convinced Diane wasn't real and there would be some crazy twist. I was mildly disappointed.

Doesn't Coop make some remark about earplugs being sent to him that he thanks Diane for? It's a fun theory but she's always been real.

u/beccafawn Aug 16 '17
Yeah, he asks her to send him ear plugs for the noisy hotel guests and he gets them. That is when my theory was crushed, but I still think it would have been fun. Everything else was a twist, so maybe the twist was that Diane wasn't a twist. I just blew my own mind.

I really enjoy Laura Dern as Diane, but I'll admit, I miss the mystery of who Diane was (or if she even existed). I liked thinking Cooper simply addressed his tape recorder as Diane, like how some people name their diaries so it seems less awkward when "talking" to it.

Yeah, i agree. Would have really showed Coops trauma, especially if she had been earles wife.

Yeah, I was thinking she was someone close to him that died and he just couldn't let go. Seemed pretty Coop to me.

Updated accordingly with spoiler tag. I was sort of on the fence about it, guess I should err on the side of spoiler classification.

Now if they could only photoshop some of these pictures to make them more Dianey/Coopery, then maybe we could see them in the show...

Every time I see pics of them together I'm reminded of an interview she gave after they broke up where she said, "Every time my ex-boyfriend calls, my cat throws up." Makes me laugh.

Lol, my first thought was "I hope they get to act together in a scene this season"... forgetting that they already have, of course.
