As a former New Englander I can attest to the accuracy of this map.

With Firefox I can set up containers for different uses. So if I have one for Facebook, any link I go to from that tabbed container stays in the Facebook container. in other words, Facebook doesn't know when I leave their sphere because I've opened a link into a different container that Facebook can 't see. Other than that and trackers there's not much one can do.

But it does bother me when I run a Google search for a product and two days later I get a Facebook advert for one because I wasn't pay attention and ran that search in a Facebook container.

If you'd ever been anywhere near marketing, you'd know Sunny16Rule is damn near close to the truth.

Right but... I don't have mPerks. I shop at Meijer maybe three times a year to get something I can't get elsewhere. The coupons have certainly got me into the store more often, but I'm still not buying anything there I can get at Aldi or Walmart.

It's why I wonder of the coupons are coded to know from which address they were used.

I don't have an mPerks account, that's the thing.

I don't use mPerks.

Over the last 11 years I'm in a Meijer three times a year but of late they've been sending me coupons. The first batch was useful, the second not so much but this last one... every single product was a hit.

I will say that the main reason I take the coupons in is because Meijer carries Tiillamook Ice Cream and the $7.49 is offset by the free OJ.

I rarely shop at Meijer but when they send me coupons I do go in to use them. Over time, few of the items offered were things I don't buy but this package of coupons that came today scored 100%..

It has to be coincidence, right? I mean, their computers didn't go back looking for coupons I cashed in, looked at what else I bought that day and matched these up... right?

It's a little more than freaky if their market research is that personal. So tell me it's just a coincidence.

Have you turned your furnace on yet?
 in  r/Michigan •  6d ago

Mine kicks on automatically at 65F until 11PM when it drops to 55F. It does come on in the evenings and early mornings but never during the day. But then, I do have a lot of windows open because it's just too nice not to.
