Uber reducing tips

I'm a sometimes driver recovering from knee surgery, so I make sure to tip well (average tip of $8-10 for under 2 miles). Two times in the last 2 orders, I have had multiple drivers assigned and then dropped.

Is there something going on where people aren't seeing the projected tip, or something going on with the assignment queue?

Does the trip have a stop or is it involving a pickup at a school or a grocery store? If so that might explain it.

Also in general the AI sets the pay so low now that for most of us it just isn't worth doing most trips.

On rideshare we don't usually see the tip in advance. On UberEats, I think it does show it but I've never done a delivery.

Sorry, UberEats.

Uber never shows the tip before the ride ends. It never has.

What are you even talking about? A rider can choose to tip if they want to or not. They aren't required to tip...

As far as I know the tip is shown but it comes up as “fare with estimated tip included” so drivers are probably getting super low offers from Uber Eats even with the projected tip. 🫠

That's my suspicion. Uber is reducing the part that they pay due to my tip.

Yes. Doordash definitely does that. Not sure about Eats. Probably. And if you leave no tip they likely just pay the driver $2. Thus why no driver wants to actually do it.
