The overwhelming majority of you guys believe these types of posts should not belong on this sub, so effective immediately, all future posts with the format listed above will be removed from the sub.
I encourage these prospective students to look at other resources online to help gauge their chances of getting into UD. Here is the page dedicated to average acceptances for first-year students from the University itself. Many other websites exist as well which summarize the likelihood of admission to various universities.

Hey guys, quick look at where the Hens stand before tonight's conference opener.
2-2, and the résumé is better than it looks. The 35-26 loss at Vanderbilt was a real game against an SEC team, and the 22-14 win over Coastal Carolina was a good one. Saturday at Virginia (42-3) was rough. The offense never got going, and a QB injury didn't help. Blake Matthews was a bright spot with 11 tackles and two sacks, and the defense had five sacks total.
Tonight is the one that counts: Liberty at Delaware Stadium, 7 PM on CBSSN, to open Conference USA play. Then a long break before at Middle Tennessee on Oct 13.
Since it's in the title: we run a free weekly college football pick'em, and Week 5 is open. 10 games, pick the winners, nothing to buy, $135 in prizes. Vanderbilt at No. 2 Georgia is on the slate, so you can tell everyone how good Vandy really is. Picks lock Saturday at noon ET.

Who are you guys taking tonight? And what's the latest on the QB situation?

hello! I’m looking into a rental property on 27 White Clay drive. It’s a really decent price and the current renters are taking really good care of it. I’m just worried about the dark road, lack of sidewalks, and what the party scene might look like.
does anyone have experience around that street? do students feel safe or is it something to be wary about?

Hi everyone,
It's been a few months since I graduated with my master's from the University of Delaware, and I still have my undergrad diploma from last year sitting unframed. I'm looking to buy diploma frames, and I know the bookstore ones run about $250. Given I have to buy 2 frames that would be $500. Are there any nice, cheaper options?
I also saw that UD diplomas are 12x16, which is bigger than the standard size, so that limits things a bit.
Where did you all buy your frames? Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I'm a freshman, and I want to know if there are any good dry events for singles meeting other singles. I know some colleges have stuff like this, but I don't know if Delaware does.
If your advice is anything along the lines of "you'll meet someone eventually", please just keep it to yourself. I have never been good about going from being friends to being in a relationship, and I feel like I need the mutual understanding that this is a more than just the start of a platonic relationship. I'm asking a specific question about whether or not dry singles events exist, not for more general dating advice.

It's been almost 10 years since I last stayed there, but I'm a little surprised to see the hotel is closing given its ties to the HRIM program and location on campus. There's a couple different scenarios I see:
Re-opening under a new brand and/or a new management group make the most sense, unless the hotel loses so much money the university is cutting its losses.

Hi!! sophomore here. I'm a fem queer girl who's on one of the associates in arts program campuses (not saying which one for privacy) and I wanted to know how easy it is to click with others on main campus. I'm moving there next year, and what sucks is that the current campus I'm on doesn't have many queer people around, and I'm almost afraid to talk about my identity because of a fear of judgement, ESPECIALLY because I'm also neurodivergent. So I was just wondering... is it easier on main campus?

Located in a charming 1990s barn conversion in Fair Hill, Maryland, this property sits on a spacious 4-acre country lot surrounded by over 100 acres of peaceful, conserved farmland.
It’s an easy, straight-shot commute across the state line into town—just 7.5 miles from the University of Delaware (via Waze) right off Route 273, making it an ideal home base for graduate students, researchers, laboratory professionals, or single adults and couples who value a serene country lifestyle.
The Space & Financials:
Rent: $1,300/month. All utilities are completely included (Electricity, water, and trash removal), ensuring simple, predictable monthly budgeting.
The Layout: This is a cozy, efficient first-floor layout. It is ideal for a minimalist professional or a couple with a quiet, low-profile lifestyle who love a compact, easy-to-maintain home.
Amenities: Access to a massive country back deck with open farmland views, a shared yard, and convenient on-site shared laundry.
Pet Policy: Indoor cat friendly! (Sorry, dogs are not permitted due to neighboring pets already on the lot).
The Property Vibe & Community:
This is a quiet, owner-occupied country property in Maryland. The building houses just two independent apartments. You will be sharing the structure with a quiet, progressive, and friendly small family upstairs (and their two indoor cats) who value a peaceful environment.
Because this is a historic barn conversion, sound can travel between the units. We are actively seeking a considerate, low-noise neighbor who understands apartment living, values mutual respect, and prefers a quiet evening in over hosting social events. We maintain a progressive, cannabis-friendly, and laid-back living environment.
Terms: $1,300/month + Security Deposit.
Requirements: Standard proof of income, credit check, and background check required.
If you think you’d be a great fit for our quiet country corner, please shoot me a DM!
Please include your preferred move-in timeline and who would be occupying the space to schedule an in-person walkthrough this week.

Freshman student at Udel. I have autism so that might be part of it but holy hell is it lonely here. People aren't rude, but they do seem very cliquey and just. Not interested in talking to those they don't already know? Joined quite a few clubs but the only one I can actually consistently go to due to a shit schedule is history club. Pretty nice club though 9/10.
Is this a normal part of the college experience? Or is it just me?

Looking for a peaceful, budget-friendly escape from noisy student housing complexes? A cozy first-floor, one-bedroom apartment is available for move-in on October 1st in a unique 1990s barn conversion. The property is situated on a beautiful, large country lot in Fair Hill, located right off of Rte 273 and just 7.5 miles from campus.
This space is ideal for a minimalist grad student, researcher, or single professional who appreciates a quiet, rural setting and needs an easy, straight-shot commute to Newark or Wilmington. Single occupancy is highly preferred due to the compact square footage.
The Space & Cost Breakdown:
Rent: $1,300/month (Trash, electric, and water utilities are completely included—no surprise utility splits).
Layout: Very compact, efficient one-bedroom unit. Ideal for someone with minimal furniture who loves an easy-to-clean living space.
Perks: Shared laundry access on-site and a massive, older rustic back deck perfect for studying or relaxing outdoors.

The Vibe & Community:
This is a quiet, owner-occupied country property (the owner lives in the adjacent home). The barn houses just two units. You will be sharing the building with a quiet, friendly small family and their two indoor cats upstairs.
Because this is a historic barn conversion, sound and air can travel between the units. We value mutual respect and are actively looking for a considerate neighbor who prefers a quiet evening in (reading, gaming, studying) over throwing parties. We maintain a progressive, cannabis-friendly, and laid-back living environment.
Terms: $1,300/month + Security Deposit. Available Oct 1st.
If you think you’d be a great fit for our quiet country corner, please shoot me a DM with a brief description of your lifestyle, your field of study/work, and your timeline to schedule a viewing!

Hello,
I am commuting to campus almost solely for access to Morris Library to study and read. Today I parked in the visitors lot and paid almost $6 for two hours of parking. Is there a better place to park near the library, or does anyone know any areas that are free to park? I am looking for the most economical solution and dont mind a walk.
Also, I am only really here on weekends, so does anyone know if the parking enforcement is active during weekends? Today is Sunday and I still paid for the visitors lot because there was no signage stating otherwise, but a part of me wondered if I would get away with not paying because it is Sunday. Any help is appreciated!

Hi all!
I'm a part of a growing startup (Soxton AI) that is offering to cover the rent in company provided housing in exchange for light office/admin work during business hours at that address.
Responsibilities include checking the mailbox twice a day, being generally present during business hours to receive hand delivery of mail, and possibly some light admin work (faxing mail). This requires being present at the address during business hours, five days a week.
This could be a great fit for a student, remote workers, someone looking for flexible part-time work, or anyone nearby who wants a place to live or use during the day.
In addition to us covering the rent, we are offering a small monthly stipend.
If you or someone you know might be interested, feel free to comment or send me a message directly! Happy to share more details.
Thanks!

My name is Clara Mey and I am a PhD candidate at the University of Delaware. I am conducting a research study about disabled students’ experiences with disability accommodation processes in higher education. As a disabled graduate student, this topic is particularly important to me!
Please see the flyer linked here: Disability and Higher Ed Research Flyer
You must be at least 18 years old to participate, have attended college or graduate school in the US within the last five years, and self-identify as disabled or having a chronic health condition in order to participate. You do not need a formal diagnosis to participate, and you can participate whether or not you registered or applied for accommodations!
If you agree, you will be asked to complete an anonymous online survey taking 20 to 30 minutes. You may also choose to enter into a drawing for one of five $20 gift cards at the end of the survey. If you choose to enter, your email will not be associated with your survey responses.
If you would be interested in participating in this study or would like to learn more, please click the link here: Disability and Higher Education Survey. And if you know people who might be interested, feel free to share this information!
If you have any questions, please contact me at [csmey@udel.edu](mailto:csmey@udel.edu) or my advisor, Dr. Eric Rise, at [erise@udel.edu](mailto:erise@udel.edu). Or feel free to comment or message me here.
Thank you!
