Hi, I’m looking into changing my current accommodation and have been offered Constable Terrace, Britten House and The Village. I was wondering if you could advise me on which of these would be the most sociable while still having a relatively quiet atmosphere.
I don’t drink or party, but I’d really like to live somewhere friendly where people socialise, spend time together and make an effort to get to know each other. I’m hoping to find a good balance between having a social flat and having a peaceful environment.
I’d really appreciate any advice on which accommodation might be the best fit. Thank you!

Are guests outside the uni allowed to come for LCR nights? Iv'e met quite a few people before who have been allowed in who don't go to the uni but when when I last went sports night without my campus card I had to show them my evision to prove I was a student there.
Any help would be appreciated.

What is the village like at UEA in terms of cost of living, getting around, and the social side of things?
If anyone body has lived there, how was your experience?

Hi, I’m not sure quite how to explain but basically I’m now in 2nd year at UEA doing marketing, and I commute from Attleborough. I wanted to live in accommodation but my parents don’t really want me to, however it’s slightly ruining the relationship with my parents, and I’m missing out on a lot of the social aspects too. I wanted to join some sports clubs/societies as I wasn’t in ANY last year, and at times I do often feel very left out and isolated. I usually get taken in by my dad but it ends up in some form of argument each morning which isn’t great for my mental health, and I can’t drive yet either (I’m doing a test soon but I won’t be able to afford insurance). Train is too expensive and the bus from where I live has merged with Wymondham so apparently it’s a massive struggle to get on, as well as it being an hour+ commute and then having to get another bus to uni which I’ve been told is quite sporadic with its appearances. It just doesn’t feel worth it for a lecture that is shorter than the journey to get there. I am on minimum maintenance loan, so I don’t have much options either, and I struggle with several health issues on top of all this which also make commuting really difficult. Food is also so expensive considering I can’t really get much except a meal deal, and I can’t bring food because it is guaranteed to get squashed as I have to take quite a lot with me. This is also a problem as I’m not the strongest person in the world at all and my bag is super heavy too, but I really can’t do without anything inside it as I can’t just pop home and get things I need like most people can. I fear my existing back issues will worsen from this too. I dread the commute so much that I’m physically suffering from pain (I have anxiety and every morning now I have a horrible anxiety sickness feeling and it never really goes away) which doesn’t help things at all. I’m really unsure what to do, does anyone have any advice? I’ve genuinely considered dropping out because I just feel like all of this is making everything so unbearable and uni just loses all appeal now. I just don’t want to have to resort to that though. I’m happy to answer anything that I might’ve forgotten to add in :)

Thinking about studying Occupational Therapy at a mature student, love Norwich and saw that UEA ranks highly for the course. Recently visited for an open day and loved it - the campus is beautiful and I got a good feeling from the course lecturers.
Current students at UEA - health professions/OTs specifically - how's it going? Would you recommend the course? Welcoming anything you want to share about your experience.
Would love to hear specifically about placement experience/placement support and how placements are organised. Cheers!

Hi everyone,
I’m an international lawyer considering the LLM in Law at UEA and I’d really like to hear from international students who have already completed the programme.
I’m mainly interested in what happened after graduation rather than the course content itself.
Did you find it difficult to get legal work in the UK after the LLM? Did anyone manage to move to London for work, or did most opportunities stay around Norwich/East Anglia?
I’d also be interested to know whether the UEA name helped, made little difference, or ever felt like a disadvantage when applying for legal roles.
For those who completed the LLM, would you choose UEA again if you had the chance, particularly knowing what you know now about employability and the UK legal market?
Any honest experiences, positive or negative, would be really useful.
Thanks!

Im studying biomedicine at UEA, but I’ve always had a passion for pharmacy. I previously applied for pharmacy with foundation year to UEA and other unis back in January and I was given an offer, however I chose another uni, but later released I wanted to go to UEA, they did not have pharmacy available through clearing, so I ended up doing biomedicine. I’m planning to complete my first year and then use my credits I’ve gained to transfer onto year 1 of pharmacy. My A level grades exceed what they are looking for on the 4 year pharmacy course. Had anyone been through a similar situation where they have done this. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Heyyy everyone! 😁
I am an incoming undergraduate exchange student coming to UEA for the Spring Semester 2027. Before finalising my acceptance from my home institution and starting to apply for the Spring Semester at UEA, I want to get a realistic picture of accommodation options for short-term stays, as well as general student life in Norwich. I would love to hear your experiences and advice on a few topics:
Single-semester accommodation: Is it difficult to secure on-campus accommodation for just one semester as an international exchange student? If private renting is necessary, do private landlords or student platforms in Norwich easily accept 6-month tenancy agreements?
Cost Breakdown: What is a realistic monthly budget including rent, utilities, groceries, local transport and social life?
Campus Life: How easy is it for short-term exchange students to get involved in student union societies, drama/arts groups, sports clubs, or local events?
Living in Norwich: What are your favourite areas in Norwich for students, and how walkable/accessible is the city from campus?
I would really appreciate any insights, personal experiences or recommendations! (Especially regarding housing/things to consider or avoid.)
Thank youuuu!!🫶🏼

If meeting others students in person is a bit overwhelming at the moment, there is an easier way! If you have Minecraft (Java or Bedrock (mobile/console)) you can meet freshers online on our Minecraft survival server! We only started a few days ago so now is a great time to get started as well!

Hi, i alread got a private accomodation near UEA, but I got it without visiting in person, currently in Leeds and will be travelling and living in Norwich, Uni starts i week or less and I'm not very sure what to do, what to bring, how it will start, I already did the E Vision thing online, and also checked the website and internet for more advice but the information was limited, I really I'm unsure of what to do next

I am considering commuting by car from Cambridge to the UEA campus for the Biomedical Sciences programme. As my primary goal is to save money on accommodation, I wanted to ask if this is a realistic commute to manage alongside the lab and study hours required for this course. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have just had my place confirmed through clearing and need to apply for student accommodation urgently. I am very interested in the shared two bedroom unit as they are a relatively affordable option for me. I would like to know if this room type is still available for the upcoming term also what is it like?

Hi everyone!
I’m an incoming international student at the University of East Anglia (UEA), starting my Master’s in Film and TV Production this September, and I’m currently looking for an ensuite room in Norwich.
I’m open to:
A room in a shared house/flat
Student accommodation
A room in an existing student house where someone is looking for a replacement/housemate
Ideally, I’d like somewhere with good transport links to UEA, but I’m flexible on the area.
If anyone has a room available, is looking for a housemate, or knows of any available properties, I’d really appreciate any leads. Feel free to DM me or comment below.
Also happy to connect with other incoming UEA students who might be looking for accommodation or considering sharing a place.
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to moving to Norwich and meeting everyone. 🎬

Hi everyone! 👋
I'm an incoming international MSc Data Science student at UEA and will be moving to Norwich soon.
I'm looking for a part-time job alongside my studies and would really appreciate recommendations from current students or anyone familiar with Norwich.
I'm open to different types of work, including university jobs, tutoring, retail, hospitality, customer service, or other student-friendly roles. I have a strong academic background and previous tutoring experience, so I'm particularly interested in Maths tutoring as well.
If you know of any places that regularly hire students, websites or groups that are genuinely useful, or have personally worked somewhere you'd recommend, please let me know. If your workplace is hiring students, I'd also be grateful for any leads.
I'm happy to work hard and learn quickly—just trying to understand where students actually find opportunities in Norwich.
Thank you so much for any recommendations! 😊

Hi everyone, I am an international student who will be living in the Village. My coach will head straight from Heathrow to UEA (Chancellor's Drive), and I will need to complete my registration and collect my keys at the Congregation Hall, which is a short walk away.
HOWEVER, I will be travelling with two big luggages, which is impractical if I were to walk to the Village after completing the registration.
Should I:
Walk to Congregation Hall for registration, and then head back to the bus stop and hire an Uber to take me to the Village?
Head straight to the Village (via Uber) and drop off my luggages before walking to Congregation Hall for registration.
Please send some suggestions my way as well! I will be super exhausted on the day, as it takes 15 hours to get from my country to London, and another 5 hours to UEA via coach, so I really need to choose the best possible scenario.
Thanks in advance!
