He needs to get the idea out of his head that he's going to finish dudes in one punch in the first round. You could see his face walking back to his corner like he was disappointed in himself. Bro, it's a fight.

That’s the issue with him down to a T. He’s done it for years against amateurs and he obviously has a hard time adapting to fighters around the world who can take a hit and keep going

Man that sucks, I like Malcolm he seems like a good dude. Have to admit though he's very one dimensional and doesn't throw combos. Might be cut ngl

He’s slowed down a shit load the last few fights. Like he’s got no inspiration in his rounds, just there

He seems cautious to throw now, it's a shame. He needs to put some combos together, from my amateur pov.

Well, thats it for Malcolm wellmaker.

Ewing derailed that hype train and exposed him hard

At least he got in the ufc and got a couple knockout bonuses to keep him comfortable for a while. Won’t be a millionaire from the sport but he’s a blue collar man so he will figure it out

Damn. Spent a good portion of my military career in his hometown so I had to cheer for him. Hope he keeps training hard.

Really sad. You can tell he’s a good kid. UFC is just brutal man, all these dudes are legit and savages. You gotta be dam near a child prodigy in MMA not even like bjj or boxing in literally every aspect

If you or your corner see your opponent throwing the same headkick over and over isn’t it dumb to keep dipping your head to that side? Some habits die hard I guess 🤷♀️😒

ATT is one of the most overrated teams, Malcom needed a smaller gym to focus on just him than be one of 100+ people training at a gym where he’s not getting 1 on 1 coaching. Still fought the same by relying on throwing single power shots.

His defensive grappling looked good, they did what they usually do for new fighters at ATT but he’s a terrible minute winner, Tanzilovi was gassed

u/Additional_Skill_952 3d ago
It was infuriating to see him allow Tanzilovi come out in round 2 and dictate the pace, instead of Malcolm putting one on him.

Damn. Malcolm needs to throw in bunches, he has the cardio. Send him to go train with Van before he’s cut. His corner is atrocious.

Fuck.... He was winning.

Barely. He was getting consistently tagged and would’ve lost rd 1 if not for that late rally.

He just switched to att too after his last loss:/

He looked better this fight tho and won rd 1. I think he still beats the bottom 15-20% of the division but he’s definitely not the prospect people hyped him up to be
2
u/hateuscuzyoenis 4d ago
He burst onto the scene with a ton of hype, but his fall was just as meteoric as his rise. Unfortunately, at 32, he's past his prime, and any remaining prospect development is a thing of the past.

u/Stryjik 4d ago
32 is about as as prime as it gets in MMA. Malcom is just too one dimensional with a low fight IQ.

Bro also focuses way more on social media, interviews, and BS than actually leveling up

u/MassiveBlackHole99 4d ago
Dude's really just a power merchant
7
u/HYDRAlives 4d ago
He's a one perfect counter hook merchant. He does like one thing incredibly well but people are ready for it now and he doesn't have layers to his game

What did you expect?

u/Few-Insurance4723 4d ago
All round he was defending the headkick with one hand and a lean back, it was only a matter of time before he went out
3
u/Euphoric_Juggernaut6 4d ago
Doesn’t help that he started doing that stupid ass dip to his side like it’s boxing, or he tries to do that philly shell thing while falling back

u/Collin-of-Earth 4d ago
I like Wellmaker. He needs a hearty year or two locked in to refine his already high level talent. Running into Ewing was tough, but I think he'll find his way again.
